How the game turns

I seriously never thought we would lose the last test. Tendulkar/Mishra p'ship was fantastic. I thought we had saved this test. I knew still work had to be done, but would never have that that we would lost even without finishing the trail. I had a feeling Mishra would eventually get out after lunch, but to see how the whole team followed him, it was an insane finish actually. Reminded me of how Kumble used to finish some line up back home in the last session or post lunch session.

Absolutely. Whenever this particular show comes on while we are batting (vs. SA in the WC) or here, it just adds to the impression that the team lacks something very crucial. Call it a collective will or self-belief or team-spirit or pride. The lack of application even within the short-term plan of a day's play is deplorable.

To lose after Amit Mishra had worked so hard to get us within 30 runs of erasing the deficit was diabolical. But according to our captain, they "tried their best" so it is OK.

Mishra batted better than SRT' date=' even Ganguly echoed this.[/quote'] SRT's innings was almost as chancy as his 85 at Mohali. The pressure of the 100th hundred was obviously getting to him.
