Positives from the series

1. Now Dhoni and company can get to more serious business of planning for Champions League since the pesky Tests are done with. I can already see likes of Raina and Murali Vijay hitting nets to practice their slogs. 2. BCCI would be over the moon that since India is no longer ranked 1 they don't have to schedule too many Test series, especially series with more than 2 Tests, which will leave plenty of time for the real thing - more T20s :yay: 3. It's good that Indian players (Zaheer, Gambhir, Sehwag etc.) got injured during the series so they will have plenty of time to recuperate before IPL 5 kicks off. 4. At least we didn't get any draws and all the games ended in a result. Nobody can blame BCCI and Team India for killin Test cricket and making it boring :--D 5. Harbhajan will have more time to sue Mallaya and hold press conferences proclaiming he's no. 1 spinner in the universe, Sreesanth will have more time to work on his band & dancing, Yuvraj will have more time to get back to enjoying butter chicken, RP can continue his vacation and Sehwag can get back to his hair transplant therapy. 6. This series debacle will allow Srikkanth to add "emerging" talent to Team India in the form of Anirrudha Srikkanth. 7. Biggest positive. At least the series is over.

No.7 for me... thanks. I wonder what if India played a 5 test match series? Can some of these older men please make way for younger blood for the ODIs please including Tendulkar? Tendulkar was better off playing the test series vs West Indies than this 5 ODI series, India possibly would have won the test series 2-0 against the West Indies.

We haven't had a decent bowling allrounder since Kapil Dev. Raina could be the one if he improves his batting a bit.

^ anish, in case you dont know, I am one of those praying for the complete shutdown of that pathetic crap called IPL. While IPL alone is not responsible for the pathetic quality of future crop of Test batsmen and bowlers and their ability to handle difficult pitches/conditions, it is a contributing factor to both poor quality and lack of hunger (for Tests) in next gen players. When they can bowl 4 overs of crap (or cowlash some DLF boundaries) and earn a million dollars and some late night parties with bollywood bimbos, then what hunger is left for high quality Test level skills? (there are some exceptions like Pujara - hopefully he will succeed).
