I think Ojha is going to make all the people who keep preferring Ashwin over Ojha eat their words.
Ojha is more of a defensive option. I would say this to most left arm spinners. Left arm spinners cannot be be genuine wicket takers or match winners. Only Leg spinners or genuine off spinners should be considered as a test options. Ojha can only play as a holding one end option. We need to be sure what kind of a bowler we need. Right now, we do not have any bowler who is a wicket taking option, so Ojha can work, but along with we need to develop and look for bowlers who can take wickets, like 4-5 wickets and win matches. He could not take more than 2 wickets even in county cricket where most batsmen are susceptible to spin, how he is gonna take wickets at international level. We have tried Amit Mishra and Ojha in tests other than Bhajji in last 1-2 years, but both have not been up to the mark so need to try someone else.

Ojha built up pressure from one end. while mr. dart thrower came in and took cheap wickets because the batsmen took more risks against him. Harbhjan didnt have anyone to keep the pressure for him in the engerland tests.......and we all know what happened....

i dont think Harbhajan has taken many wickets as well. Both have similar stats in last one to two years. Even Kiwis thrashed all Indian spinners.

You mean all spinners have been equally ordinary. spinind.jpg Avg of 40 is such a shame for frontline bowlers. India has worst spin attack in the world atm. I don't know why selectors haven't given chance to other spinners yet. It's like batsmen averaging below 20 and constantly playing matches. Murli hasn't played any match during this period despite pathetic performance of Indian spinners.

Our best spinner can't bowl because of a shoulder problem. :((

Cannot disagree more.who said only off spinners and legspinners can be matchwinning bowlers .high class legspinners can be effective on most pitches but off spinners are also as ineffective on flat tracks ex are swann and bhajji.ojha has flight and variation and keeps it quite I would prefer ojha at home as when it turns left arm spinners are deadly.

yes he did well in county...well done to him but he looked ordinary in tests. he really does not have any variations, no arm balls. a left arm spinners need to be very skillful and thoughtful..even Vettori one of the best left arm spinners of all time has an average test career. lack of variations like googly, flipper, doosra makes a left arm spinner less effective. Bishan Singh Bedi is the best left arm spinner of all time.

Finished with 16.3-10-8-6 Well done to Ojha. The real worry for him will be his fitness. Looked way overweight in one of the matches they showed on Star Cricket recently. Needs to work hard on his fitness and he is a good prospect for us.

People i would say don;t get too excited on his performance, just recently, piyush chawla was a superman in county cricket, winning matches with hi bowling and batting too, and he was smothered in the world cup. Ohja for one, doesn't know to bat, he is a decent spinner, but he is not special.

Get him in the side already. Bhajji and Mishra both suck. Ashwin is only a limited overs option. We dont have a decent spinner and Ojha fits the bill perfectly.
No, Ashwin will be better than ojha in tests, ojha averages more than 40 in tests
