What? T20 is rubbish yaar. I dont want ICC to organize T20 WC that is just wastage of time. T20 should only be played between clubs not between the countries if they want to, though they have already created a monster out of it.

I hate T20 too, but my gut feeling says it's here to stay. Some people are saying the ODI format is in danger since it's apparently suffering from the middle child syndrome, but it still draws in huge crowds to this day. I feel Test cricket is most susceptible to dying a natural death in the years to come. Viewer interest for Tests is just waning, and when it comes to watching a Test series live, people obviously can't set aside hours of their time watching cricket for days. ODIs and T20 matches on the other hand get done in one day, so there's a better likelihood of taking a day off or a few hours' break to watch the game. The talk about 'people not having the time to watch Test cricket' isn't entirely unfounded. We really are living in a fast paced world, and that's slowly seeping over into cricket. Most folks today couldn't be bothered to be glued to their TV sets or watch a live Test match as they would for an ODI series or even T20. At most, some people would rely on updates rather than stay rooted to their seats for days. T20 offers convenience and 'thrill' to viewers, many of whom want to see fast paced action and the wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am version of cricket. Much like fast food vs. gourmet cuisine- yes, the latter is more desirable, but fast food is quick and convenient. Not many give a damn about the competition between bat and ball in this era. Sad, but true.

Again, for this season there seem to be a fair few excuses like 8-0 and Sachin's absence so far but I think there's an underlying pattern here. Still, I think that these T20 leagues will hang around for a bit longer because of the inherent superiority of club and franchise based tournaments over leagues based on geography and bureaucracies. There dont seem to be any outright favorites or minnows in T20 club cricket compared even to international T20s and talent is more evenly spread across the teams. Also, there seems to be less self-destructive corruption of the kind that has ruined West Indian and Pakistani cricket teams for example.

every country is jumping into the t20 market right now and setting up leagues, this is where t20 leagues lose there novelty.

Overall T20 is here to stay (still better than Baseball), this the only format where we can have more participating countries. And apart from purists, a general viewer is not bothered about 'true test of cricketing skills'. they just want few hours of entertainment - once they understand basic rules and stuff.

Even though it is sad that in future, the likes of Kieron Pollard and Yusuf Pathan would be the most sought after players in these formats,T20 is a great substitute to keep cricket relevant, Test or even ODI cricket to the outside world is just something UK and it's former colonies participate in....cmon how else do you explain countries like Srilanka or even Zimbabwe having a relevant sporting outfit??? T20 not from a commercial point of view but also from bringing exposure to the game of cricket is very critical part of the game.People who act all snooty about T20 not being a real form of the game are still stuck in the colonial mindset. For someone like me I enjoy all formats of the game and yes even IPL.aprt from the annoying coverage given to non-relevant page 3 clebrities,As a form of cricket I do enjoy IPL and international T20.

Also to add,wearing prep clothes and sipping wine and watching a test match at lords might be as much fun as sitting with your friends eating Pizza,drinking beer and cheering for your local team after a hard days work.

In the future, only 20/20, 10/10 and 6/6s will remain, and the other forms will be packed off to be kept in the museums.

They ruined it by re auctioning players and increasing the number or teams/games. I think it will still do ok as its an alternate to lame Tv serials

TRP is still better than tests and ODIs.
