suma25 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 This has been discussed in most of the newspapers and in news channel...she has been born and brought up in usa but just because her father was an indian people over here are going over the top in their celebrations more than in usa itself .So should she be celebrated as just role model for woman in india or an `indian` role model .Would like to know how many of you thinkn she is an indian role model or not

In other news, mani ratnam,srikanth and ramesh krishnan are all my seniors. But seriously, everyone does it. We are in a cricket message board celebrating the success of 11 other people,whom we have no connection to. Its not different from this cept maybe this is lower in the pecking order. Frankly, she is a much better role model than 98% of the role models out there irrespective of her skin color.

Frankly, she is a much better role model than 98% of the role models out there irrespective of her skin color. no doubt she is better role model but the tendency of indians to claim any person with distant relation to anything indian even though they have been born and brought up n foriegn countries from sunita williams and to a lesser extent norah jones and monty panesar is what irks me .

It seems in India not only was she covered 1000 times more than she was in USA but there was enough of puja/yagna etc etc going on for her safe return. Unfortunate and quite shameful really. Why does India has to celebrate the success of a non-Indian? A coverage here and there would have been apt but this? Crazy. xxx
