gaurav92 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Well played :hatsoff: But his real test would be the ODIs and the Aus tour (I am sure he will get selected there :winky:)
Hell Raiser Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Rahane definitely looked as a class player. Pure cricketing shots and no ugly hoiks. His first four over cover point was really a beauty. I hope they play him as an opener and not Parthiv Patel in the ODI's.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I missed yesterday's match.Can anyone upload video of his innings?
ZodiaC Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Too short an innings to suggest anything. You were bang on about Kohli though. So.. :hatsoff::two_thumbs_up:
Number Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 If they play Parthiv Patel ahead of him .. it will be a  worthy decision by management.
The Dark Horse Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 If they play Parthiv Patel ahead of him .. it will be a  worthy decision by management. With Dhoni, you never know u can almost be sure that he'll do the same:winky:
Misu243 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Rahaneeeeeeeeee....that flick to midwicket off of Stuard Broad for four could give SRT a run for his money...time to give this young man a chance in the middle with the big boys..
Sidhoni Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 :hatsoff:Brilliant innings yesterday, Lets see how he does in ODI's, Should be Nohit's repalcement
Rightarmfast Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Too early to predict anything. Does look promising, but has to undergo the test of time !
jeeves Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 obviously we can't judge him on the basis of one innings.however he has broken into the team after piling runs in first class cricket at an outstanding average of 67 and i also remember him getting a quickfire 90 odd in a practice match against the touring australians. importantly he has also scored hundreds outside inida in the emerging players tournament and for india A.surely has the potential to become a good player, but in this age of fiendish IPl tournaments, he needs to get his priorities right, develop a good temperament and learn to value the indan cap

Brainfade Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Too early to predict anything. Does look promising' date=' but has to undergo the test of time ![/quote'] At least he didn't implode on the big stage - unlike Badri, Dhawan, Tiwary etc.
vishalvirsingh Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 His batting style is typical Australian' date=' kinda resembles Clarke and Ponting. Way he shifts his weight and his fluency is kinda Ponting.[/quote'] Rahane: i am kinda shocked and angry with selectors ..how can they keep such a players in wraps and play useless guys ahead of him like murli vijay , dhawan and many others....this guy looks so GOOD even in technique...i got a feel that he has better technique and talent than raina, tiwary and even UV, Badrinath and many others..... now we have seen his 2 innings and even if he gets out of a zero in coming 2 ininings( which wont happen) still he definitely has the class and confidence of a dravid and VVS while he plays and has some shots which even sachin would be proud to play. UV and raina do play shots but they also take a lot of risk in those shots....he is way ahead of players like dinesh karthik, murli vijay dhawan tiwary n others...my question to selectors is did they never see him BAT as any average cricket expert would be able to identify rahane as a better bat than murli/dhawan/dinesh karthik /badrinath/saurabh tiwary at least ...why was he not played ahead of them is my question ? i beleived that we seem to be not having international class batsmen in INDIA cricket when i saw dhawan , murli and others flopping. i am kind of assured that this guy has international class ...written all over him.
vamos_rafa Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Rahane and Pujara, these 2 are the only young breed of batters that I am looking forward to.
mrinalmech Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Rahane and Pujara' date=' these 2 are the only young breed of batters that I am looking forward to.[/quote'] +1. When is Pujara going to be fully healed. Hope to see them both in WI tour.
vamos_rafa Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 +1. When is Pujara going to be fully healed. Hope to see them both in WI tour. I think Pujara should be available for the WI tour.
ShebbySB Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 +1. When is Pujara going to be fully healed. Hope to see them both in WI tour. + Kohli
