I heard so much about him and i was little disappointed after seeing him in live action. I heard somewhere that, we can judge a player by seeing how well he can play a cover drive. Also, how well he can go backward and forward. In the complete innings there was not a single convincing cover drive and a good pull / hook shot. Somehow, i feel like this guy is a work in progress and can play a role like jonathan trot. I want to see more of him before come to any conclusion. He is definetly not a one who would mesmerize you with class.

Rahane doesn't seem to have enough time to play 140 k bowlers, he is not a ODI bat, maybe he will be better in test's, Pujara , Mukund, Vijay seem more talented, Badrinath a dud, Rahane looks more a player who is a domestic giant , Rohit is the classiest among these players,Parthiv needs to be chucked Kaul needs to be tried now.Tiwary looked good when he came into domestic scene played Zaheer verywell, stepped out to him, he looks good on front foot, backfoot and short deliveries Iam not sure, has talent can improve a ODI prospect.

Even Tendulkar could not have played that ball and it was his first ball of the innings. No one expect that kind of bounce on second ball of the match.

Iam not basing this on yesterdays match alone, I had heard a lot about him from last few years , somehow I FEEL WITH HIS GAME, TEMPERAMENT, lets hope I am wrong, with Badrinath I felt the same way , though he is better then him, just based on what I see, Rohit will be ahead of Yuvraj, Virat , anyone else in test's, Badrinath in any form , Ajinkya in ODI ,dont seem are up there, Murali, Mukund, Pujara loook better,Murali needs to tighten his game , not give away his wicket , but his potential is undeniable.

LOL not enough time from wht i ve seen.. he can play fast bowlers easily! not scared of them.. in england they attacked him with bouncers ,all type of stuff and he countered them easily and showed his solidity when he made 80-90 against england he is good player def would be in a test side !

Also, you should have seen the way he was manouvering Steve Finn through the point region in the India-England series to really know how much time he has against the quicker bowlers.

But, he's a spoilt player now. rohit is a class act for sure but Mukund is still below Rahane IMO. Anyways, these are subjective topics.

I can assure you one thing, that technically Rahane is better than Virat. Virat's technique, specially against the moving balls leaves a lot to be desired. Uthappa? you got to be kidding yaar. How can you even think of comparing a cow-lasher with a proper cricket bat?
