One of the best recent indian lineups agianst short bowling?

I have seen last tour england used a lot of the short ball well in odis in 2007,we had ganguly and tendulkar opening still they were not playing pullshots or hooks current team has some good pullers like Parthiv,Rahane,Dravid,Rohit ,Kohli,Dhoni .you see english bowlers rattled .

better against short ball for sure but i think they will be worse against the swinging ball, anderson will wreak havoc and dravid is the only one who has proven ability to handle it

I don't think short-pitched bowling and bounce has been much concern for Indian batsmen in last couple of years. Seaming and swinging conditions have troubled batsmen more than anything else. This is one reason why our batsmen were so successful on bouncy tracks of Australia for a decade when all other teams struggled. Laxman and Dravid are best players for India against short-pitched bowling. Laxman stays back most of the time. Sehwag and Sachin don't play pull and hook shot generally. Short-pitched bowling affects the mind of batsman and his feet movement on fuller deliveries. Sachin, Ganguly and Sehwag were good enough to just leave the short-pitched ball and play big drive on follow-up delivery. This is what younger generation would find hard to do in test cricket. Bowlers look to take advantage of this. That's why when batsman consistently hammers them against "aggressive bowling", they don't like it. This is what we saw with Patel, Rahane and other players in LOI. I agree that this lot looks much better than earlier. It would be good if they can do well against swing also.

No recently in champions trophy or both t20 world cups we have been exposed as we could not score of short balls in india its fine,but away its a tactic used by bowlers ,it hard to judje bounce in england compared to sa or aus as there is spongy bounce so even best players get hit.

England have bowled poorly, they should have been getting the ball up there a lot more. Short balls were punished badly. But then again some of the balls weren't even that short and the batsmen latched onto them

In the test Series, they used short ball as a weapon occasionally but here in ODIs, they seem to be testing them a lot more, Broad and Bresnan should have been a lot more fuller and should have peppered it short as a surprise weapon.

Yes, u need gutts to play hook and pull. Few people are born with it and play the shot whenever it is necessary.

Gambhir is not that comfortable hooking or pulling the ball while Raina simply can't play the short ball.
