Got the 16GB Ipod touch today. Its very slim and looks great. I brsowed a couple of pages before got disconnected from whoever owns the wireless server:D. Very simple and reading is not a problem but clicking link after link seems a tad tedious since u'll see only 20% of a page in the zoom in mode. Lack of the click wheel will be a problem for me since i never took my previous ipod from my pocket while playing songs. I could feel the wheel and wd just skip or change volume. Would need changes. Audio quality seems the same but interface is slick. Haven't tried the video playback yet and will do later. But for anyone whos looking for just a MP3 player, this is not it. But if you want a slick new toy, to play with when you are bored, this is it.

That is the major difference between the iPhone and the iPod touch The iphone has volume buttons on the exterior, which is a real help.. just put your hand in the pocket to change volume.. also, the mic on the headphones acts as a play/pause/nextsong button, which is also quite useful.

I dont know about sony ericsson.. see if you can get the contacts into outlook. I had a razor, so i just got the contacts onto outlook, via the razr's sync software, and then imported them to itunes via outlook. I think you can even go to the AT&T store with your phone, they will put your contacts onto a flash drive for you.. and then you can come put the contacts onto outlook/itunes. I have a friend who moved from sony ericsson to the iphone, ill ask him what he did.

Has anyone successfully jailbroken the 1.1.1 iPhone? I found this tool, ijailbreak which is supposed to do it automatically, struggled with the process the entire night, and am officially groggy, sleep deprived, and pi$$ed on a Monday morning.

Apple iPhone India launch likely in Sept Ravi Menon / Chennai April 16, 2008 Indians will no longer need to illegally buy, unlock and then use the most-desired item on gadget lovers’ lists — the Apple iPhone. Its much-awaited and delayed India launch is expected with telecom operator Vodafone in the first week of September. The Cupertino, California-based company, according to Apple retail sources, said initially the 8 GB version of the much-hyped touchscreen device — which combines Wi-Fi capabilities with a powerful email client, TV feeds, online music store and map-based location guide — will be launched at a price ranging between Rs 27,200 and Rs 28,000.

Did you manage to do it?
Gave up after a couple of attempts. Someone was telling me there are easier ways to do it now, but haven't given it a shot yet. Did you do it? If so, how and is it worth taking the risk? I know the risk is small in jailbreaking as opposed to unlocking it, but was reading the odd instance on the web where people ended up with a brick.

My brother jailbroke my phone for me to use 3P apps and so far it's been working just fine, and it took him only a minute to do it. I can PM you what my brother did if you want. :D
