He wasn't bowling great, nor was he in good form either so he had to be dropped given he doesn't fit in future scheme of things. Selectors took a hard decision back in 2009 to drop Dravid, it worked out quite well. So I guess its time we tried new bowlers. Zaheer wont be around long enough either.

Given the inexperience of the attack, Nehra in place of Vinny would have been ideal. If we go back the famous Mohali semi, he was bowling really well and at the time it was quite a big blow that he wouldn't be available for the final. He's the only one of the current bunch of useless bowlers that can really get his yorkers in so for that reason alone, he should have been in.

How long will you hang with Nehra? And also its not as if he was bowling well. Averaging around 40 and an E/R of 6 isn't good.

Unfortunately we are not blessed with 4 or 5 promising bowlers and quite frankly the thought of PK and VK bowling at the death on flat Indian tracks should make all Indian fans quake in their boots. We need a designated death bowler, it would be very harsh to expect Aaron or Yadav to bowl consistently at the death while VK is totally hopeless and I feel Aravind will go the same way. In contrast as soon as the PP or death overs are on, England automatically turn to Dernbach and Bresnan.

that is selector's intelligence. They must have had Nehra as an experience bowler instead of Arvind who does not have anything to offer. Though he bowled well only in one game in WC, but still as a death bowler he is very decent.

people have been saying this for the last 6-7 years but he is still around and whenever selected, usually picks up a few wickets and is dropped again. Also, he is far better than the trundlers we currently have and should be in the side.

I agree that Nehra isn't the future, but neither is VK and if we think just about the present I would take Nehra any day over VK. Anyways I have already said it, won't support India on days when I see VK in the playing XI, it's an insult to have him in the team. Don't hate him, just he isn't good enough to be there.

I think they are looking to the future. However, personally I would choose Nehra as we need his experience due to our bowling woes and this guy still has a few years left in him.

He is nothing but an another trundler. Nothing wrong in trying young guys. He says he is only 32 but he should know he fields and runs in like a 50 year old.
