probably the most unathletic nation on earth.
Have you ever heard of 'Vijender Singh ' ? Do you know who 'Mary Kom' is ? Do you know how many medals Indian athletes and wrestlers won in last Asian games ? Do you know how much athleticism is needed to play hockey ? If you do, then do you know where does Indian Hockey team stand as per the latest tournament ? Just do some homework like getting answers to these question and if you are a MAN then post the answers here...I will give you your next set of homework. And just so you know, when we talk of athleticism why do you forget the Indian batsmen who run between the wickets to score runs ? Isnt that athleticism ? Just try doing 10 sprints of even 50m at one go and then you will understand what I am saying. Till then, cheers !

Number of gold medals won by India in the history of olympic games: 9 Number of gold medals won in track and field events: 0 you dun goofed son. To think a tiny nation like Jamaica will probably win 9 gold medals next olympics. Indians are just genetically inferior when it comes to being athletes, no hate at least you are probably more intelligent.

Serani, to quote Sarcasm's example - Black communities in the UK and USA have consistently shown poor academic performance, a disproportionate number dont cross college and higher unemployment and inmate population than the national average. Do you think its because blacks are genetically inferior to whites in intelligence or is it a cultural problem?

Let us stick to topic without over-generalizing anything. Pakistan, SL, Indian none of the country have done anything in track and field. In South Asia games India always wins. Pakistan has produced lot of fast bowlers. They are no great athletes. You are just confused with requirement to be a fast bowler and requirement to be a genuine athlete. It is not like Wasim Akram , Waqar Younis were super athletes. Kapil was a genuine athlete in comparison with them. One thing i agree is Indians don't work hard enough. If you work hard enough regardless of genetics you can improve your athleticism, strength, stamina significantly. That is where Indian bowlers fail. Bowler like Irfan Pathan look in pretty good shape. Looks a strong man. But pathetic bowling action doesn't allow him to bowl faster than he is bowling now. Agarkar who looked like bean pole could generate more pace with his wrists. But he lacks other things. Ishant has a nice and easy action to become a successful and relatively injury free career. He needs to add a bit of strength and add a bit of variation to his bowling to get there. Almost each and every Indian fast bowler misses more than one ingredients to become a successful fast bowler.

Well as someone who has been academically as well as athletically gifted I am in the best position to speak. Obviously the main problem is social factors that blacks will grow up in poverty and not be pushed through school, however I did read a study that the average IQ of a black african would be lower than a white person from western europe, not by a lot, but still lower. So there is probably a truth to the claim african black people are less intelligent.

He looks like joe average. See any of England, SA, Aussie bowlers if you want to see someone in very good shape.

Going by your "genetic" theories, this indicates blacks being significantly inferior to whites not only in intelligence but also have higher propensity to commit crime etc. Of course this is not true as cultural factors play a big role the numbers. Just shows how its easy to point to a genetic factors while discussing other communities, but use cultural/situational factors to explain one's own community lagging behind.

Don't know when it was recorded. But you cannot ignore the fact Akram is 11 years younger than Steve Ovett. Kapil Dev could have very well have beaten both of them. You are missing the point. You made a sweeping generalization that Indians are unathletic based on the evidence that they haven't won any in olympics. Pakistan hasn't won either. We are definitely nowhere close to Aussie n in terms of athleticism. But that is not the sole reason why India doesn't produce genuine quicks For the record Leander Paes/Mahesh Boopathy entered finals of all 4 grandlsams in a single calendar year (1999) and won couple of them. You can't deny it is one of the top 10 calorie burning sports in the world.

there are scores of indian boxers, wrestlers, kabaddi players n performers of other arts like gatka, yoga, bodybuilding etc who are very athletic. what zaheer has said is BS.

What does it take to be a fast bowler in India? It's not a natural thing. Indian bodies are not designed to bowl fast but that said, it's not very different from bowling outside India. Basically you have to spend a lot of time understanding yourself, your art, and then find out what works for you and what doesn't. It also involves a lot of hard work. IN defence of Zaheer. he hasn't mentioned anything about "athelticism". I don't know why everyone suddenly jumped on the bandwagon based on Serani's statement. He says it is an art. I agree with that. It is an art. "then find out what works for you and what doesn't. It also involves a lot of hard work." It is true also. It involves lot of hard work. I doubt Indian fast bowlers work hard.

dilhara hits 150-152 kmph regularly in the last Aus series.yeah he is rubbish no doubt about it.bt im talking about the pace here.cant remember srinath hitting something like 150 in a recent match though.
Probably because you did not watch cricket in the mid-late 90s. Between 96 and 99, Srinath was just as fast, if not faster than, Allan Donald and Waqar Younis. In the 96-97 series in SA, Srinath bowled at an average speed in the late 140s and early 150s touching 156 kmph. Kluesener was the only bowler who had an average speed faster than Srinath in that series. And this was during the time when Donald was at his fastest best. Dilhara is no Srinath when it comes to pace
