MCcricket Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I watched the game yesterday , Umar Gul is way out of form, other pacers bowled 130 k's , am not sure why Paki pacers are always touted fast , infact they are slower then indian pacers at present, junaid, cheema
panther Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I watched the game yesterday ' date=' Umar Gul is way out of form, other pacers bowled 130 k's , am not sure why Paki pacers are always touted fast , infact they are slower then indian pacers at present, junaid, cheema[/quote'] riaz, cheema are fast junaid is around 135k gul only bowls fast in limited overs cricket sami is still fast there's a few others in domestic cricket
Ahmed Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 What happened to the beast Mohammad Irfan? Forget that Giant. Look at this Mohammad Irfan no.2: http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan-domestic-2011/content/player/497026.html They guy is only 16 and has alreday taken 12 wickets in two matches. He has taken two more wickets today. Will surely be picked for u19 WC next year (if he passes the wrist test)
express bowling Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Cheema is not fast. Occasionally bowling a couple of fast deliveries does not make somebody quick. Nehra once bowled between 145 k and 149.9k but generally bowled 130k to 142k. We in India generally did not consider him fast but just fast-medium. Junaid often bowls medium-fast. Pakistan's best bowler in recent times, the superbly talented Md. Asif, bowled more medium-fast spells than fast-medium spells.
Ahmed Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Yup not much pace ... Relies more on swing and seam but he has been remarkably consistent He bowled at the NCA and was reported bowling at 135 to 140 kph. Good enough pace that if you can move the ball both ways as he can. Alot of young bowlers coming up: Mohammad Irfan: http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan-domestic-2011/content/player/497026.html Emmad Ali: http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/447791.html Nasir Malik http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/315227.html Prince Abbas, yes Prince; http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/343304.html Waqas Ahmed, this guy is termed as Fast in his profile on cricinfo and at pcb's pgae. Lovely average as well. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/397036.html The competition will be healthy.

Good to see, hopefully Pakistan finds some good test batsmen as well, right now it is raining fast bowlers in Australia, England, Pakistan has Wahab Riaz and Gul others are not that g8.
express bowling Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I watched the game yesterday ' date=' Umar Gul is way out of form, other pacers bowled 130 k's , [b']am not sure why Paki pacers are always touted fast , infact they are slower then indian pacers at present, junaid, cheema If you consider pacers with more than 100 test wickets ( they are the ones to consider really ) then Pakistan has produced 5 fast bowlers Shoaib -- Always express Waqar -- generally always fast during first 6/7 years of his career . Imran, Wasim and Umar Gul -- bowled / bowls mixture of fast-medium and fast spells India has produced 2 fast bowlers Srinath , Ishant -- bowled / bowls a mixture of fast and fast-medium spells. Not all Pakistanis have been fast and not all Indians have been medium pacers but Pakistan has produced more.
rkt.india Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Wow he is very similar to Zak' date=' doesnt look quick though.[/quote'] Kaun se angle se similar to Zak lag ra ye? He is similar to Shane O'Connor and Geoff Allot more rather than Zaheer. Zaheer has straight action while he has side on.

Nehra bowled 145-149 at 21-22 years of age at that age cheema was a speed demon but due to bowlers like Akhtar , Asif , Gul and 2 W's he never could make it to pakistan team Cheema was one of the fastest bowlers in PAkistan once... Still at 32 he canhit 90mph which is good enuff pace

Nowadays, with better training methods, supplements, energy drinks etc. bowlers are often retaining most of their pace till 35 or so, unless he has played a lot of international cricket or has sustained a serious injury. Number of above 32 yrs. bowlers hitting 140k or more has increased a lot from the late 1990s. While considering the pace of a bowler we should consider his general pace range. Ishant Sharma has touched 152 k once this year and 150 k sometimes but his general pace range has been 134 k to 146 k. So I would consider him fast and not a 150 k express bowler. What would Cheema's current general pace range be ?

MCcricket Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Most Pakistan players , supporters, overstate their faster bowlers speedwise and understate the age of their players by 10 lol,kid looks good, keep him away from Asif, Butt, Aamir, England.

I think you didnt see his spell yesterday against JAyawardena, Sanga and PAranavitana Was bowling pretty quick gave couple of body blows to lankans as well
vamos_rafa Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Great deliveries those!! The videos also depict the sorry state of the Paki batting. Hitting across the line or not getting to the pitch of the ball seems to be a common trend there. And I may be wrong, but his run-up and action reminded me more of Mitchell Johnson specially the approach. He's much more slower both while approaching and while delivering but I felt he resembled Mitch.
