kubrickian Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 He has been crap at the top of the innings. Perhaps push him down to the middle order and have Gambhir open and then drop him after the 3rd ODI when Dhoni will come back.
Lord Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 He has been crap at the top of the innings. Perhaps push him down to the middle order and have Gambhir open and then drop him after the 3rd ODI when Dhoni will come back. Dhoni wont come back for ODIs anyway we need to find 2nd keeper for ODIs
Needforspeed Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 For ODIs get back Robin Uthappa as reserve keeper. Though ke has kept mostly in IPL only, he will do for ODIs. Remember Dravid used to keep wickets even though he is not a regular keeper. Wriddhiman Saha also lacks quality as a bat...we need to find someone for tests too.
jairamesh Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 The rest are just as sh!t, time to bring a new face like uday or get rayudu to improve his keeping
Sidhoni Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Dont know why he keeps getting chances, Saha or Karthik should be played
Needforspeed Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Another thread mentioned that Parthiv is Niranjan Shah's nephew. Any truth in that??
Lord Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Uthappa for odi. Uday for tests. is Uday a good keeper
Number Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 is Uday a good keeper He has more experience of FC games than Saha. Safe keeper+Good batsman(Like Dhoni) is any day better than Good keeper+ Below average Batsman. Should be tried.
Pagalpanti Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I don't think he'll be dropped even if he is then it'll most probably be Saha.
ViruRulez Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Not saying only about Parthiv but I never understand why these players keep on doing decently in domestic and turn piece of sh!t whenever they are given a chance at international level. Another such player is Sudeep Tyagi though he has been given a lot lesser chances and within a very short time frame compared to Parthiv. Maybe some players don't have it in them to make it good internationally. :dontknow:
BeautifulGame Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 what about aussie' date='engliah, sl, sa windies, nz players[/quote'] At his age only Sachin has done better than him http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?agemax1=24;ageval1=age;batting_fielding_first=2;class=2;filter=advanced;innings_number=2;orderby=runs;result=1;runsmin1=100;runsval1=runs;template=results;type=batting Overall record few are above him but wont be long he overcome the likes of Jayasurya and Anwer who are second with 9 centuries. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?batting_fielding_first=2;class=2;filter=advanced;innings_number=2;orderby=runs;result=1;runsmin1=100;runsval1=runs;template=results;type=batting
Stuge Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 It's better than what the midget accumulated for over 22 years. :headshake:  ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Great knock by virat
BeautifulGame Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Leaving out Bangladesh he is third in the batting ave when chasing in ODIs.Only bevan and Clarke have better ave but his SR is far superior to both of them. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;filter=advanced;innings_number=2;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=6;opposition=7;opposition=8;opposition=9;orderby=batting_average;qualmin1=500;qualval1=runs;template=results;type=batting Incredible under pressure :hatsoff:
Stuge Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 this is his record in the last 8 ODI's 2,12,8,38,12,9,55,19 Pretty mediocre to say the least .Gambhir should be promoted at 1 or 2 in this series .
rkt.india Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Not saying only about Parthiv but I never understand why these players keep on doing decently in domestic and turn piece of sh!t whenever they are given a chance at international level. Another such player is Sudeep Tyagi though he has been given a lot lesser chances and within a very short time frame compared to Parthiv. Maybe some players don't have it in them to make it good internationally. :dontknow: He played only 4 ODIs and he did not do that badly in the chances he has got if you compare him to Vinay Kumar and Umesh Yadav in the same number of matches. Vinay's economy was over 6 till England ODI series in India with less number wickets than the matches played. Tyagi has 3 wickets in 4 matches and better economy comparatively to what Vinay and Yadav had after 4 matches. His problem is he has been plagued with injuries since then consistently. He cannot do anything if he gets injuries. There are more examples like Party and DK.
achilles Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Uthappa should be picked. But given the love Dhoni and the Selectors have for him, they'll pick him at max in the T20s.
BERGKAMP Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 what a failure partiv has been, he had the world at his feet when he made his debut in england in 2002 but since then he has not developed or progressed on the international stage at all. please drop this imposter once and for all.
