Fletcher right man for India as will demand Pace

I am glad actually now that Fletcher is coach as he will demand pace bowlers and is obbsessed by them. And thats eactly what we need to get out of the horrid indian mindset of liking Vinay Kumar types. He will demand and explain importance of pace. And finally people like dhoni might see and understand its importance now. Aaron and Yadav both being in squad smacks 100% of Fletcher and thank god for that. He is the one who got in Harmmmison and Jones in from no where despite them having no FC track record and just being pacey, we saw the fruits they reaped from this. Already you can hear in interviews aaron and yadav talikng about always bowling fast and being TOLD to bowl fast by indian camp. Again all smacks of Fletchers influence. Fletcher gives no interviews and will not try and hog limelight which is exactly what indian team needs. He is the right coach at the right time for us, as with speedsters coming through he will get them in and get them firing. p.s as long as he doed not get our batters doing his forward press obbsession to spin then everything will be fine:--D

i hope that difference in opinion between dhoni and fletcher regarding fast bowling wouldn't bring in a rift and repeat ganguly and chappeal chapter

Do you remember the India Today/Outlook lead story a few years back about how influential players use their Sport Management companies to dictate selections and coerce selectors into picking them? I don't think Vinay has done anything spectacular to get into the Indian colours. He's being lobbied for and I think this is dangerous territory that Indian cricket is entering. It is good that Fletcher has his plans and is being able to "execute it" to a certain extent. However, it is beyond all realm of imagination as to how Vinay played every ODI in England, when Mr. Aaron was warming the benches and Duncan's motto is - "Life starts at 85mph".

What's more worrying is that beyond Ishant, Aaron, and Yadav, there is no one else in terms of good pace and proven quality I thought Mithun might be a prospect, but it was embarrassing watching him bowl at 120-130kph in West Indies. After these three, I still see Sreesanth as the best hope, someone needs to get this nutter to focus. Sreesanth has experience (esp playing abroad) and bowled match winning spells. Everybody else is just potential, all based on pure speculation. With the amount of cricket India play and WILL play, the selectors need a bunch 10 quicks to pick from who can bowl 145plus at an average of under 35.

There are quite a few upcoming guys who can bowl 140k. Few names Abu Nechim, Rahul Shukla, Mohammad Shami, Faisal Dudhat, Parappa Mordi, etc.
