vvvslaxman Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 The best diet for a cricketer is a normal diet with 60% carbs + 20% fat + 20% protein. Combine that with functional training during the playing season and gym 2-3 times a week or running during offseason and you should be fine. Is that so difficult to achieve??? Sportsmen like him should strive for increasing their basal metabolic rate by being active. That way you can enjoy what you want to eat still maintain the shape. I don't think Yuvi is active enough during off season
Manny_Pacquiao Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 speaking of fatness, they really should do away with those super slow replays. they totally embarrass our cricketers. virender sehwag's super slow replay is the best of the lot. when he opens his arms and plays a big shot, you can see that massive layer of flab (that huge tire around his waist) slowly shifting across from one side of his body to the other in one smooth ripple...almost like watching a wave in the ocean. its pretty interesting to watch...

VRV Singh Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 :haha: Still remember when the cameras caught UV waddling on the field to hug Uthappa at the Oval. Not flattering..

Trust me nothing is more embarassing than to watch these fatties from the stands. The likes of Yuvraj, Sehwag, Ojha, VVS do not even do a preparatory jog before the day's play. This when you have two of the oldest guys, Sachin and Dravid, do their usual routines even at that age. Having watched both the sides, the diifference between average weights of the sides would be at least 5 Kgs and the difference between waist sizes would be at least 4 inches. But then the WI support staff too is fit as fiddle, ours has the likes of Fletcher and that fattie video analyst. Trevor Penny and Eric Simmons are fitter than most of our test players.
