Trichromatic Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 It wasn't that bad pitch for a score of 154/7. Irresponsible batting for Indian batsmen. I think bowlers did a great job by restricting WI at 304 and then picking 2 wickets later. India had to face fire in those few overs before lunch, but once they got to 90 in 14th over, they had good opportunity to score runs. From that crumbling like this was a very poor effort. With Sehwag , we managed 90 runs in no time otherwise it would have been even more difficult for India. Mumbai was a spinner paradise where Aussies were all out for 94. So, yeah it is after long time in history of Indian cricket when we are dismissed so early on a slow track. :((
kabira Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 well it happens, some freak dismissals, some wrong shots and we lost the initiative. I am confident we are winning this test match no matter what
Number Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Sehwag's opinion. http://www.sify.com/sports/looking-to-bowl-out-west-indies-for-around-150-sehwag-news-cricket-llhsUidcbdj.html Asked about West Indies captain Darren Sammy saying that the visitors would look to score another 250 more so that India get more than 350 target to win, Sehwag said, "There is difference in saying and doing it actually. We are looking at bundling them out around 150."

Marut Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Expect WI to get 180 odd. India will likely loose. 100 runs lead in a low scoring game is too crucial. Chanders first innings socre makes all the difference in this test.
jairamesh Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 9 innings and counting and still to go past 300...
Karan114 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 well it happens, some freak dismissals, some wrong shots and we lost the initiative. I am confident we are winning this test match no matter what We might well manage to sneak a win (though another Chanderpaul special and we can forget it) but the constant failures of the batting line-up are getting alarming. One game in which there are some poor shots, unlucky dismissals etc. is not a problem but when a team is barely reaching 300 in an innings over 8-9 Tests, there are some serious flaws in the side.
mani0993 Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Watched some parts of Sehwag's Interview. He says the pitch is still a good batting track. Only 'some' balls are keeping low. Home ground you see. How can he oppose the curator. Some balls ? This is not a test match wicket to say the least. I hope it finishes on day 4. If it goes to day 5 it might be embarrassing for us.
Deleted_User_1 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nothing to discuss....too much cricket and it is a shyte team!
ganeshran Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 For the seniors its not too much cricket. They are out of match practice. In the current team the only one to have played too much cricket is Dhoni - all others have had enough rest. The problem is with the BCCI scheduling too (along with our poor performance of course). There should be one Ranji match for all players before coming to the game. But none of the current squad played in Ranji given the overlap.

And it's not that our seniors avoid Ranji games. Rahul, VVS & Sachin have shown great interest in the past when it comes to Ranji level practice. Match practice would give a polish to their in-built class. But the pitches again need to be good.
Trichromatic Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Low bounce and Castro's low trajectory shooters at 90mph :fear:
gaurav92 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Looks like a defeat coming our way friends, 95 runs too many :((
gaurav92 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 ^Too early to predict eh ? :--D And I challenge that
