Cricket Tragic Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Started following in 1976 so just missed out on Sobers. :(( Sunny G Gordon G V Richards KING S Tendulkar B Lara A Gilchrist I Khan R Hadlee S Warne M Marshall G McGrath I've picked a batsman less this time - on another day, I might pick another batsman at 6. Imran Khan's batting was no where as good as his average suggests and his captaincy was overrated. However, he was a bloody good bowler and that is an area of his game that is actually underrated. Marshall, Warne and Hadlee were easy picks me. They are easily 3 of my favourite bowlers of all time.

Mariyam Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Best (according to me) that I've seen. ODI only. Captain: MSD Batsmen: Sachin Jayasuriya Sehwag Ponting All Rounders Yuvraj Kallis Afridi Bowlers Steyn McGrath Akram Extras: Gilchrist, Lara, Malinga, Murali, Warne I think my team will beat the life out of any of the sides you guys have posted in an ODI, irrespective of the surface.
daryl1985 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Akram is overrated on icf. To me he is not even close to being in my team. Pollock Donald Waqar Walsh Would have made it before him. Wow, Akram is god to many Pakistanis. Some people claim he is better than McGrath. He was an excellent bowler but McGrath is the best i have seen.

Disagree. Steyn would be expensive, Sehwag would throw away his wicket and Kallis would bat at a strikerate of 70.
CSK Fan Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Akram is overrated on icf. To me he is not even close to being in my team. Pollock Donald Waqar Walsh Would have made it before him. Akram over-rated? dude I have always seen him being put on every lost ahead of Waqar. Definitely better tha Pollock and Walsh too. Guy was a magician with a ball.
putrevus Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Kapil? Kallis and Imran seem to be far better options. Any reasoning or just personal preference? It took Imran Khan nearly a decade for him to become a force.I never trust any Pakistani bowlers who have great home averages compared to their overseas averages. Imran and kapil had lot of head to head battles except one home cooked umpired series and home scuffed balls in 1981-82 where Imran took 40 wickets and always boasts that he was in his prime then. Kapil was on par with Imran.Kapil was way better all rounder than Imran. Before the advent of neutral umpiring Pakistan lost two matches at home in two decades (1970-90) both to WI and one of them had neutral umpires conversely Indian team's record became better with neutral umpires.
