Is Ashwin the genuine all rounder we are looking for?

Exactly. WTF Lord' date=' [b']two pretty good innings under pressure, a situation that Sachin would've choked in a heartbeat
Exactly, he batted sensibly twice under pressure in debut and still there are questions about his batting? He made a mistake, but these things happened. He managed it well to stay till end on both occasion and without his contribution under pressure, we could have lost this match.

I meant in situations wen quick runs are needed' date='he obviously showed good defense under pressure, but lacks power game n is a bad runner, bit like Jaddu[/quote'] Dude, these situations are very rare in test matches. You generally don't need to score quickly under pressure in test matches. Most of the time a genuine all rounder would have to stay on crease under pressure and not hit sixes like Jaddu.

I dont know where are people coming up with this assumption that he has great technique. For all the praise the century he scored was on a flat pitch with no bounce and he is new to international cricket so not many will know his weakness yet to exploit it. So we shouldnt be expecting him to contribute regularly with the bat in Aus.His main job is bowling and runs scored should be treated as an advantage. Terming him as all rounder or promoting him ahead of Dhoni at the moment are absurd to say the least.
