agree that Mukund should have been there- and in the squad vs WI- simply for consistency as he did enough in Eng to be persisted with. Rahane can open so his selection as reserve opener is not a bad one. What they also should have done is given whoever newbies was going to Aus- in this case Rohit and Rahane -their test debuts vs WI in this match. It dosent matter if we had lost, they would have had experience of test cricket and not made debuts in Aus. MIssed opportunity.

RamizSpeaks: A bit on Indian cricket: Rohit Sharma is the best young batting talent in the world. Highly mismanaged by India. He's better than Kohli

Rahane>Mukund/Pujara
Probably, and as SaneI said he should have gone to WI and not Mukund. But its just inconsistent that is all. Mukund will feel a bit hard done by.

Selectors have been smarter than we normally give them credit to.

India should play both spinners against us' date=' we will have zero idea.[/quote'] Aussies gonna lay seaming tracks for us. Accept Adelaide all tracks are now seaming and bouncy. Even SCG's character was changed and is more grass and bouncy for the last 2 seasons. MCG and WACA are traditionally helpful for pacers.

Mukund isn't dropped I guess, they're rotating among youngsters and also Mukund didn't do himself any favours by not performing as expected. He also had the habit of playing on, I'm sure he'll get lotsa chances next year.

You have no idea, In OZ, pitch is not prepared and managed by ACB , but turfgrass association..They don't want to lose the revenue if match finishes in 3 days , so most of the pitches have become flat. Also India's traditional strength have been spin, and after long time we have two spinners bowling in tandem, which is important for taking wicket. We should continue playing two spinners, even that means playing 5 bowlers...

look at what happened last year in ashes and in Pak tests. Sydney was a green top, Melbourne was a green top, Perth always helps pacers. Dont think we will play 2 spinners.

australia is easy to bat this isnt the same line up with mcgrath and co declaring with only 300 as lead this is the side whose best bowler is the 18 year old debutant who isnt even tested properly and if not tradionally indian batsman dont mind pace they just hate movement like most teams even australia is vunerable against movement its all about how key new comers hold their own in this series cummins for australia ,yadav, (maybe aaron for india)

Sydney was flat man, MCG was flat, overhead conditions made it seam. Our pitches aren't even bouncy, we haven't prepared a single bouncy wicket since 2002, anywhere in Australia. The WACA has been a disgrace for bowlers for almost 10 years, record 4th innings chases, bowlers struggling almost every year. Complete road in FC matches too. Its not the mid 90's anymore, time to upgrade your cricket knowledge.
