JeffThommo_fan Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 He is not fit as yet, I guess... Not even playing for his domestic teams, Baroda or Mumbai. He is also a very lazy person, takes a while for him to get back to his full fitness
Ultimate_Game Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 We can't carry too many injury risks to Australia. Zak would most probably be going and with Munaf in we run the risk of 2 out 5 fast bowlers not completing the tour.

wanted_desi Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Munaf is done man, i really dont see him coming back with new breed of bowlers coming into the team.
Magneto Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Munaf has to reinvent himself to be back in the team. His skills are not good enough for the time being.
saneindian Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 He underwent a surgery on his injured ankle in England after the ODI series . This was around end of September and he needs rest and rehab for 3-4 months. Will not be fit even for the ODI leg of the Aus tour.
Rightarmfast Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 The likes of Munaf, Sreesanth, Vinay can rest assured that their time is done. Munaf is an apt story of a true talent wasted.I doubt these guys will be back in international cricket anymore.
Karan114 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Even if fit, I doubt he would have been chosen for the Test series. He was selected for the WI and England tours but played just one Test. In WI, he picked up an injury before the first Test and then didn't do much when he played the third. In England, RP Singh was rushed back rather than selecting him. While that was a bad decision, they must have had real concerns about whether Munaf's fitness would hold up over a Test.
Jersey #10 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Munaf is good as done and so is Sreesanth. Sree may get a call if someone goes through epic :fail: Munaf is a talent wasted
ganeshran Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Munaf is down the pecking order now. either he will have to do well or others will have to do poorly for him to be back in the first string side
kubrickian Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I think he is still good for ODIs. He did an awesome job in the WC. I cant see him making it back to the test squad though.
rajmarie Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Munaf is getting ready for the next IPL tournament. His body capability is such that he can only play abt 20-25 days in the year...no matter what. So he has thankfully for India decided to use those days for MI. Good choice Munaf...U spared Team India. Good luck in ur remaining career with MI. Hoping India can find couple of more quick bowlers (like Yadav/Varun & not like VKumar). Also Zak should be now used only for Test.

And during that period was perhaps the most effective pacer for us barring Zaheer's world cup show.
Talwar Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 The pace erection fanatics on icf make me laugh. u laugh because u don't know much abt pace bowling.:finger:

And during that period was perhaps the most effective pacer for us barring Zaheer's world cup show. Well...then the selectors havent announced the team for the ODI tri-series. The team selected is for Test...where u have to probably stay in the field for whole day...something Munaf cant do. Probably expect him to start playing couple of weeks before the ODI team is selected so that he can get his passenger seat for that leg..although hoping selectors dont let that happen

Do you have any idea about the injury he is having right now? Or that post surgery, he stayed back in England for nearly a month as he couldn't move? Or that he has been at the NCA for his rehab for the last few weeks? BTW Munaf has played nearly every Ranji match for Baroda in the last few years when he has not been with the national side. So all your whining about him getting ready for IPL first and then to be a passenger on the ODI leg is purely based on presumptions.
rkt.india Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 dont be so harsh' date='he played crucial role in our WC win[/quote'] which cricial role apart from pak match. thrashed by ajmal sehzaad for sixes.
