New Australian pace battery With the grand arrival of Pattinson and Cummins, suddenly Australian bowling line up looks refreshing than ever..If Ryan Harris is fir for Boxing day, it is a deadly fast bowling combination with all of them can bowl at 140+ kph :fear: Throw in wily watto, it is going to be one hell of a summer for India..:nervous::nervous: With Ishant and Umesh also bowling 140+, it will be a great battle between fast bowling :two_thumbs_up: I excite

Siddle was perhaps the fastest bowler in the match yet ended with just 3 wickets! His last spell saw so many 150+ deliveries with a top speed of 153.4 kmph which has to be the fastest ball bowled in a test match in recent times.

Siddle was bowling a bit wide and short. Good length or just short of a good length is the best length to bowl anywhere, bring the batsman forward and induce an edge or get LBW or bowled. Bowling short and too much outside the off stump does not leave many options of taking wickets. Siddle was not playing the batsman much and then he also lacked that movement away often which Pattinson got. Starc was also very ordinary. It was Pattinson's awkward length which he hit consistently in second innings. Our fast bowlers also need to understand about what is awkward length for batsmen and persist there ball after ball. I can take some points out of all three Ishant, Yadav, and Aaron. Ishant bowls bit wider outside and does not attack the stumps much or force the batsmen to play more. Yadav some times bowls too shrot. Aaron's problem is he bowls too full. Being too full won't work in Australia, can work in England where ball swings in the air. In Aus, he will have to hit the deck hard and find that in between length. If they find that length and line, their pace will come into play more.

Yeah, I think their performances against India will be a better indicator.

So when did this WI team became quality team than NZ. These young Aus bowlers did much better than (okay) Umesh and (ordinary) Aaron against a test team where top 5 played not more than 30 tests between them.

pattinson was gr8 starc was odinary both nz and wi are bad teams but australian bowlers bowled in helpful wickets.. yadav got his 7 wicket in match on pitch were india scored 600 odd runs.. thats the difference

It's 'Advantage Australia' as far as fast bowling is concerned for Ind-Aus series. We simply have no decent back-ups and if Zak gets injured we are toast, whereas Aussies seem to have lots of decent options.

Also keep in mind the difference of conditions in India, batting friendly, no bounce, no seam, dry, in Australia fast, bouncy, seaming track at Gabba. These same Australian bowler wont even ask for water before capitulating if they had bowled on Indian pitches.

It is the Indian batting which will have to score runs as well.

I am going by past experience. We don't have any decent backup in case any of our top bowlers are injured whereas Australia will be able to find one. Plus I don't rate Aaron that highly - he is way too raw to make a difference in Australia.

He was better than Yadav in EPT on much flatter tracks. Even Australia called up Daniel Christian as a back up after Ben Cutting got injured, so not much back up there too. Johnson, Bollinger, Ryan Harris are all out. Cutting is injured and out. They have Cummins who is recovering from injury, Siddle, Pattinson, and Starc, who else.

Pattison and Starc did look good. They tend to offer free "hit-me" balls in between, but with time, they will be more accurate. Pattison can get prodigious outswing and Mitchell Starc looked quite similar in bowling style to Mitchell Johnson.

lol even yadav was raw after 3 games vs west indies and 2 warm ups i think aaron would be much less nervous he is raw but so is starc even pattionson in first innings looked raw and dont expect all these guys to be consistent i hope aaron performs today he can easily fullfill 3rd seamer rolse in australia in case of injury better than pathan or others

starc isnt that impressive imho he wasnt threatning enough on that track pattinson impressed us all even before getting 5 wkts imo indian bowling isnt that bad ishant is much more experinced and yadav is already bowling some beauties on these flat indian tracks aaron i will say this again dont go by 1 bad match he can be perfect 3rd seamer for india
