This thread is for discussing upcoming fast bowlers in this 2011-12 domestic season. With the emergence of Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron, I am sure it will inspire our other domestic fast bowlers to improve their fitness and try and bowl fast. In this Ranji season, we are already seeing the difference as there are some bowlers like Manpreet Gony, Anwar Ahmed, Abu Nechim, B brainder Sran, Bhuvneshwar kumar, Rahul Shukla, Ashok Dinda, Ishwar Choudhary who have caught the eye. According to me, fitness is the first and foremost thing to check out for any fast bowler coz only then he can continue to improve his performances and look to play for his country one day. What's your take on this? Which are the bowlers you think should be the contenders for the Indian team sooner or later? Below are the performances of some top bowlers so far- 1. Manpreet Gony- 19 wickets ( three 5wkt hauls) 2. Irfan Pathan- 21 wickets ( three 5wkt hauls) 3. RP Singh- 8 wickets ( one 5wkt haul) 4. Bhuvneshwar Kumar- 13 wickets (another Kumar trundler :giggle:) 5. Pankaj Singh- 9 wickets ( one 5wkt haul) 6. Ashok Dinda- 11 wickets (one 5wkt haul) 7. Pradeep Sangwan- 10 wickets (one 5wkt haul) 8. Parvinder Awana- 15 wickets 9. B Brainder Sran- 9 wickets 10. Abu Nechim Ahmed- 12 wickets (two 5wkt haul) 11. Shami Ahmed- 6 wickets (one 5wkt haul) 12. Anwar Ahmed Khan- 16 wickets 13. Rahul Shukla- 3 wickets 14. Ishwar Choudhary- 10 wickets 15. Murtuza Vohra- 9 wickets (one 5wkt haul) 16. Dhawal Kulkarni- 12 wickets 17. Sony Cheruvathur- 24 wickets(Highest wicket taker so far with two 5wkt hauls)

honestly not seen any one of them bowl so cant say but nechim he is one guy who looks the real deal pace, swing ,control and is spearhead of one man attack so he is a fighter who wont give up more over if he is selected 4 man attack is possible which can easily bowl at 140 plus lmfao:gossip:

Four 140+ bowlers bowling in tendon. Ishant, Varun, Umesh and Nechim :dance:

i know but still just thought of it brings smile lmfao at best we will play 3 quick ones (if zaheer is injured ) i just want ishant to start taking wickets alrady if he does things set up nicely is looks like in good form so its jsut matter of 1-2 innings imo so i think nechim should be selected but...pk is swing bowler it makes sense to select irfan if he is actually swinging the ball

Irfan was was a very good ODI bowler and then allrounder for us for a long time, you have a very short memory indeed. Not to mention a test hatrick and man of the match performance in Perth 08-one of our greatest test wins. Yes his form tailed off, but he did much much more good than bad for India

Lot of other success without him so why we have too still think what he done 4 years back??

Another guy who bowls at good speed -Pawan Suyal and he is left arm too. Unfortunately he is out for the rest of the Ranji season due to a freak knee injury. But he is only 22 and will be back soon. Rahul Shukla is back after a injury lay-off but is looking good now. Good to see Shami Ahmed get games for Bengal this year. Last year they played him in only one match and though he took 3 wickets, he didnt get another Ranji game. I think the board should shortlist 7 or 8 promising fast bowlers and then focus on their improvement. IPL teams seem to be doing a better job of promoting domestic talent.

Dinda can touch 145 but is not faster than Aaron or Umesh on avg, but has similar control ( or the lack of it). Manpreet gony could be a good prospect. Have seen little of Abu seems ordinary.
