He has definitely achieved more than Mithun has achieved. We don't really have to worry about last 2 FC seasons as he didn't play that much during that phase. Current season is what counts. Mithun has no special skill to get a free ticket to Australia.
He is better only if he is back to 100% fitness and swinging the ball..! There is no way to judge his fitness from 2-3 first class games where spinners share majority of the workload..! Let him continue to play whole season, and lets acess him in one dayers..He shouldn't be rushed to test cricket at any cost.

So' date=' is he selected to reduce the BCCI costs of getting a bowling machine in Australia .. I think a bowling machine would be cheaper than a free ticket and accommodation for a player. :giggle:[/quote'] Can you groom a bowling machine for future?

Reactions to possible replacements to PK 1) Vinay Kumar - Grr. Selectors going for trundlers again. Tenvic/ southie Quota 2) Mithun - Same as above and replace trundler by bowling machine. 3) Irfan Pathan - He is a trundler. Brainless selection. Bowls mid 120s 4) Nehra - Why do we keep going back to tried and tested failures and not giving chance to youngsters
Agree. Mithun is better than the other trundlers IMO. He is young and will learn a lot in this tour. He is also tall and will get bounce on Aussie pitches as he is a hit the deck kind of bowler. Irfan Pathan cant get bounce because he is average in height and he has lost the skill of swinging the ball which was his main weapon when he started out. If people think he can make a comeback to tests as a strike bowler, they are deluded. He can be a fifth bowler in ODIs at best.

Mr Stuge just takes the cake for his analysis on Mithun's selection.... :cantstop: Perhaps our chief selector thought he was selecting a pinch hitter and saw Mithun's onslaught against samuels and narine.

Therefore Dinda was the right man for the job. Has pace (140+), is in good form (7 wickets in the last Ranji innings), has variation, is hardworking and dedicated and has played with Ricky Ponting (so he basically knows all his secrets) and under John Buchanan (he also has a complete knowhow of Aussie strategies). Is NOT from the South, and is still young and fresh.
