That's not a concern, his skills are not in question, he is a class bowler. Its entirely a case of getting lots and lots of overs in and whether his body can physically cope with that.

Apparently BCCI wanted to sent him along with other senior players early to Australia.But Zaheer requested them to let him play another Ranji match.He quoted in an interview saying it was better way of regaining match fitness bowling in a ranji match than bowling in nets in Australia.

I salute the will power of the Man( Read ZAK) but it seems his physical body is giving up now... i understand he is 34 years old...... My wife saw a recent picture of Zak bowling in a newspaper against Orissa and I asked her what does she think wud be ZAK's age....Her answer was 37 to 38 years. then I also thought that ZAK does not seem to be 34 ...he cud be atleast 36( after seriously seeing a couple of his pictures)..if he is 36+ and is recuperating, i will be super impressed if he can bowl well against Australia....bowling well simply means if he is fit as if he is 99%fit and manages to bowl 25 overs , i am kinda Sure he wud manage atleast 2 to 3 top order wickets and wud also guide Umesh and IShant well and they cud also take a couple or more Wickets.......... But knowing My Body ( though i am a SUper FIT JAT and a SR IT Manager) and i am 39.. i feel he will either underbowl and under perform in the TEST he plays or He will get injured again and wont play in other test matches and finally feel embarassed and retire out of TESTS. FOr me he seems to be not Judging his fitness Properly............. Cricketing Fitness should have a digital Answer ...either YES and if its not YES , it means it is NO. if u r suppremme fit....when ever i have played Cricekt Matches , at the start of the day , i have thot of myself as a STRONG BULL ready for a fight, and i have found myself supreemmely fit......if u r slightly unfit.....it means u r UNFIT, u r not sure of urself, in that case u shud not be playing. though I know players Hide injuries and play....with that they r not just harming their team they are also Harming themselves, their Career. I sincerely feel Sreesanth was not totally fit in england..... i was shocked to see sreesanth bowling between 120K to 129K most of the time not trying hard, not running hard, not using his shoulders effectively..........Since then he is invisible, i am not sure whether he will ever play for INDIA again, his lack of performance has hit him and his career. if ZAK plays and under performs it will affect his career...... i am fine if he sleeps and rests and plays the Last TEST match in AUSTRALIA when he is 100 % fit and is charging like a BULL at 140K.

Zaheer bowled just 4 overs today in the first session in which he got the wicket of Pujara through a spectacular catch by Marathe. Why hasn't he bowled more? Yesterday too he bowled 13 overs only? Does he think it is not worth it to waste energy on a road like like pitch? I got the news that he was attacking and without caring about going for runs, he was going for wickets..which is good. Why hasn't any newspaper covered it and given the news to the fans like they did after the first match?

For some reason, I think ZAk will complete the tour this time around. He might not bowl 25 overs a day, most likely 15 Overs a day

Zak will play for india in tests, but he won't be effective. He will bowl within himself to avoid any injuries and won't get many wickets either. I believe zak's career will end in 4 or 5 months max.

Rajkot pitch is a pace bowler's graveyard. Not surprised to see him bowl less. BTW Zak bowled 13 no balls yesterday. Either trying to bowl quick or struggling for rhythm. A total of 25 no balls so far in the match!

Kulkarni and Salvi bowled total 47 overs. Didn't get a single wicket and Zak got 3 in his 21 on this track .that's good..
