deathmonger Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 That is some extrapolation!!! You are giving that Kapil Dev 175 too much credit here. Its not one of those vital moments of Indian cricketing history as you make it out to be. Cricket would still be lucrative as there just is too much money involved in it now. because of cricket crazy indian public which may not have been w/o 83 win.
Magneto Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Do you even know how dedicated SRK brigade is on ICF.... :girl_haha: I will take them on singlehandedly
Magneto Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 because of cricket crazy indian public which may not have been w/o 83 win. That was not a knock-out match :hehe:
deathmonger Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 That was not a knock-out match :hehe: was imp still. may not have gone to semi final otherwise.
gaurav92 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Awesome! But there is an error here :hmmm: Sehwag doesn't qualify to be a 'human'. He is at a different level. (Humans have fear, he has no fear). Please correct pome and rewrite. :protest: Actually he is the first human to do it "Pehla Insaan" coz the one before him is The GOD
zen Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 look how low we are stooping now :haha: that's goes with being a fanatic :hysterical:
Magneto Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 was imp still. may not have gone to semi final otherwise. Arey, they beat Australia in the next match :wall:
Magneto Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Actually he is the first human to do it "Pehla Insaan" coz the one before him is The GOD Tch tch. You are not getting my point at all. Sachin is not defiinitely human, but neither is Sehwag. You cannot demean Sehwag by calling him a human
Lord Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Arey' date=' they beat Australia in the next match :wall:[/quote'] yeah,it was a knock out game from Indian POV.they had to win both IIRC.if we lost against Zim,Aus game was meaningless havent watched that.just read the reports.so I may be wrong

You cannot demean Sehwag by calling him a human No, in my book there can only be one GOD of Cricket and that seat currently belongs to Sachin :proud:. And before being a GOD, even Sachin was a human, so Sehwag shouldn't mind it :--D.
Magneto Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 yeah,it was a knock out game from Indian POV.they had to win both IIRC.if we lost against Zim,Aus game was meaningless havent watched that.just read the reports.so I may be wrong Factcheck time: When India met Zim, India were on 8 points with 2 victories AND Australia were also on 8 points with 2 victories. India beat Zim and Aus and ended up with 16 points. So, had India lost, they would have had to meet Aus where both of them were at 8. That would have been a virtual knock-out. After India won, they met Aus with already 12 points in the kitty. Aussies lost and were stuck on 8 points. So, the Aus match was the crucial one anyway, and not the Zim match.

So, the Aus match was the crucial one anyway, and not the Zim match. if ind had lost even zim would have 8 points. and they had one match left with west indies (and they had defeated aus which was a better team than indies at that time so there was a possibility of zim beating indies). so if ind had lost to zim and aus then indies and aus would have gone through. if ind had lost to zim and won against oz and zim had lost against indies it would be 3 way tie between zim aus and indies.
Sachinism Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 People arguing that '83 was vital because it changed the future of Indian cricket. Tendulkar is THAT if not more important. Nearly all young batsmen grow up idolising him. Without Sachin we don't have Sehwag
