Sachinism Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 1983 was a defining moment for Indian cricket, yes many got playing after it. The same way many went out wanting to be the next Sachin (a lot more than other cricketers)
vvvslaxman Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Cricket was always being playedi n India. That has been the only sport Indians have been following with craze for years. Hence no surprise. What made Tendulkar take up cricket? 1983 world cup? What made Kapil dev take up cricket? ... all these interviews from cricketers should not be taken seriously. I can't vouch for current crop. But previous generation cricketers played cricket because for the love of game. In Tendulkar's case i have to say people learnt cricket. No amount of coach can teach you. You can just watch him and learn. AT the start of his career Viru had identical strokes to Sachin shot by shot. They infact ran a comparison side by side in the beginning of viru's career. OVer period Viru evolved and made his own range of shots. Similarly anyone who sees Dhoni, Dravid would love to emulate how they rise to the occasion I always loved to imitate Dravid's strokes more than Tendulkar's strokes. Laxman inspired by Azhar, Viru inspired by Sachin, Sachin inspired by Viv, Sunny.. there are so many such stories in India
vvvslaxman Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Here is a comment from one dude on telegraph Vivek Desai Today 08:52 AM Virender Sehwag becomes the first HUMAN to hit a double century in ODI cricket. GOD was first. Comment like count Recommended by 3 people Recommend Report

jonas10 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Im so fed up with fanboys comparing SRT to god....if he was so godlike why is his Test average so mortal? He should at least have a 70 average to justify the godlike moniker.

He should at least have a 70 average to justify the godlike moniker. :hysterical: God is more focused on hitting his 100th 100s, who cares abt an avg of 70 :dontknow:

He should at least have a 70 average to justify the godlike moniker. averages are overrated. new benchmarks are total runs scored, and centuries in all formats of the game combined minus ofc the formats the posters don't like themselves. :winky:
zen Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 RPT B->B->B->B->B-> Oh and RPT * SR God wouldn't quite measure up if we use anything except most runs and 100s (without contex) :orderorder: Use anything else and he looks mortal :hysterical: *which is why the fanatics hate a simple tool like rpt coz it reminds them that srt is not what they believe him to be .... God should come up well on any criteria but .... :P *
