They need to get reality check and stop going after high end market First they need to make phones like motor which are killer for price I heard that they made deal with amazon so get amazon market on blackberry so they might get lots of apps but they still need to make operating system idiot proof and less confusing
Yep there are no physical buttons like a home button that iPhone has so forget about the older generation. And their marketing is nonexistent. Not to forget the deep rooted mindset that people have for BlackBerry. That's hard to overcome. They have a new ceo as well as BBM is going enterprise and they are able to make some money out of it. If they do it right they can still get back in the business. One thing they got consistently wrong was the pricing. Their os was undercooked when they released z10 and that hurt sales. For me after the cut down pricing, I loved it. $199 unlocked from straight from the manufacturer, that's too good a deal to pass on. Simply because I love the gesture based os and it offers true multitasking.

Of course it's bad because blackberry never catered to the general population and unfortunately that's why they went down. They are still trying to put on and remove some bandages and only now they are going the low end market like they did in Indonesia and next in India. They are also selling BBM as a service and that's been selling good so far. It will be interesting to see how the market shapes up with the launch of iPhone 6, amazon's phone and other high end android phones as well as blackberry phones. As a consumer this is a good thing. Competition will only help out consumers in the long run.

HTC 'Volantis' could possibly be the next Nexus tablet

The rumors of HTC working on the next Nexus tablet have been around for a while now but they've been rather all over the place. On some occasions the device was going by the name Flounder and on others it was dubbed the Nexus 8, and now there's Volantis. To go along with the names, there are now some specs, which are sure to raise some eyebrows and certainly some questions along the way. Have a look at what HTC could showing up to the party with. 8.9" Display at 2048x1440 (281ppi) NVIDIA Logan 64-bit processor (Tegra K1) 2GB RAM 16/32GB internal storage 8MP OIS main camera, 3MP front facing camera Aluminum zero-gap construction Stereo front-facing speakers 8.91"x5.98"x0.31" body (that's 22.63x15.19x0.79cm) 418g (or 427g with LTE) (that's 14.74/15.1 ounces) Interesting right? According to the info from Android Police the device isn't expected to be released any time before Q4 2014 and certainly won't be a part of Google I/O but they've also scored some possible price points. If the info is correct, we could see the tablet start at $399 for the 16GB version, 32GB going for $499 and LTE connectivity would push it into the $600 plus range. In any case, even though the rumors have been rampant for a while now it seems we'll still be waiting a while yet before anything official happens.

Pichai on iOS vs Android: I think of it almost… like two types of government. Some [forms of] governments will be able to do things faster because they are opinionated and get things done. Than you can have a noisy, cacophonous, cantankerous democracy which is often better in the long run. So you have two different worldviews being presented. To me I look at it and say it’s remarkable that we live in a time when you have such different choices.
