Holysmoke Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Still its not clear for me how A7 performs as good as other SoCs clocked double of its freq and had hot twice the number of cores Also its surprising that apple was using Samsung hummingbird chips even for iPhone 3gs Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk Optimization. I have a mac. Battery life is 12 hours on Mac OS, 4 hours on windows. It's a good processor, no doubt. But install an OS like android or Windows on it and see it stutter.
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Not that simple buddy. How many stages in the pipleline of each? What is the size of the L1 cache's? What is the memory latency? What about branch prediction? Once you get the answers to these questions you will have a better idea rather than just looking at it simply by instructions per clock. hey since you are best person to ask...can you explain me how krait cores in snapdragon chips is different from normal ones used in exynos ?
Sidhoni Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 offtopic but can someone suggest me a good android at around 13000-14000 rupees.Main requirements : good camera' date='speakers for music and speed for browsing fb etc[/quote'] I'd say go for Moto G.
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Optimization. I have a mac. Battery life is 12 hours on Mac OS, 4 hours on windows. It's a good processor, no doubt. velu Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 lol before ios 7 i would have agreed with you totally but after seeing my ipad stutter more than my htc one ..i do not know:cantstop: i think ur iPad is faulty :giggle: its universally accepted that android is bit heavy on processor .. even samsugn claims tizen is more optimized that android :--D
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 i think ur iPad is faulty :giggle: its universally accepted that android is bit heavy on processor .. even samsugn claims tizen is more optimized that android :--D lol you live with samsung products i cannot blame you but even finger response while using even apps my phone is quicker it means phone scrolls with finger..i think you need to try htc phone specially running kit kat and you will know i am not lying and its universally accepted ipad air lags but i still like it
Detonator Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 ipad air does lag on a game like infinity sword. probably due to it's very thin body
velu Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 lol you live with samsung products i cannot blame you but even finger response while using even apps my phone is quicker it means phone scrolls with finger..i think you need to try htc phone specially running kit kat and you will know i am not lying and its universally accepted ipad air lags but i still like it its not as simple as that.. htc has twice the RAM ( and has 2 GHZ processor vs 1.4 GHZ ) ..
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 its not as simple as that.. htc has twice the RAM ( and has 2 GHZ processor vs 1.4 GHZ ) .. why should i care about ?
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 ipad air does lag on a game like infinity sword. probably due to it's very thin body it worked fine for me just need to make sure it does not gets too hot problem is with apps and browsers in day to day usage its not usual apple like fluidity and is comparable to androids..its same on all devices running ios 7 and iam sure they will fix everything with ios 8
velu Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 why should i care about ? then why you care about optimization ?? if a device which has half the RAM and low processing power does the job as good as the other device , then its optimized better in computing sense :winky:
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 then why you care about optimization ?? if a device which has half the RAM and low processing power does the job as good as the other device , then its optimized better in computing sense :winky: but i did not pay half price for it....
velu Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 but i did not pay half price for it.... how does that affects optimization ?? :giggle:
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 how does that affects optimization ?? :giggle: lol with half ram it cannot load more than 2 tabs at time it kills applications aggressively ..for example you are watching youtube you press home button you check cricket score for 2 minutes and post comment against vela and when you go back some times not only the video which is buffered is gone but video all together and app start frm home page so you have to search video from start and play it . this is one example same thing happened with cricbuzz..so its not all optimization and safari reload is quite famous ..now about power we discussed before it pushes lot less pixels ..a 720 p xperia z compact lasts as much as 1080p z1 full sized with 3000+ mah battery with same chip set and every thing else being equal ...these things do matter .. now lets talk about capability apple software is amazing if you want to do stuff the way apple wants but it does not allows anything else at all not even default apps ...there is a reason smart watches like peeble work so much better on android its jsut more open and supports lot lot more hardware so it will obviously be less optimized and best example is safari results of ios which even rival my laptop its same with windows vs mac with limited hardware they do not really need drivers and can design software for that hardware which leads to more efficency but in the end to end user when it comes to android vs ios do these efficiency save you money ?
velu Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 but i did not pay half price for it.... how does that affects optimization ?? :giggle: explain this .. if i get the iPad in discount will it work faster ??? :giggle:
velu Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 lol with half ram it cannot load more than 2 tabs at time it kills applications aggressively ..for example you are watching youtube you press home button you check cricket score for 2 minutes and post comment against vela and when you go back some times not only the video which is buffered is gone but video all together and app start frm home page so you have to search video from start and play it . this is one example same thing happened with cricbuzz..so its not all optimization and safari reload is quite famous ..now about power we discussed before it pushes lot less pixels ..a 720 p xperia z compact lasts as much as 1080p z1 full sized with 3000+ mah battery with same chip set and every thing else being equal ...these things do matter .. now lets talk about capability apple software is amazing if you want to do stuff the way apple wants but it does not allows anything else at all not even default apps ...there is a reason smart watches like peeble work so much better on android its jsut more open and supports lot lot more hardware so it will obviously be less optimized and best example is safari results of ios which even rival my laptop its same with windows vs mac with limited hardware they do not really need drivers and can design software for that hardware which leads to more efficency but in the end to end user when it comes to android vs ios do these efficiency save you money ? coming from iPad user :giggle: ok .. enough for today :icflove:
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 explain this .. if i get the iPad in discount will it work faster ??? :giggle: from cost /benefit point of you i will only care about so called efficiency as consumer if it saves me something at end . also its not all black and white ..it is more efficient but also more closed ..it might open web page maybe quarter of second quicker but it only opens in one restricted browser ..this is one example and it is not even quicker but my example was if hardware is totally identical even then it does not makes ios better.. simple question velu and this is last one i would not be bale to reply back as i have some work but even with more efficency if battery does not lasts as long as android phone which lets say in my personal experience my cousin got 5s for 50 k and mine one is for 40 k mine lasts longer easily why should i care ?
Old guy Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 coming from iPad user :giggle: ok .. enough for today :icflove: lol i have criticized lots of things i like..you need to take my posts differently from trolling on internet tech sites ...only reason i am posting baout ios is because i like it earlier i did not had idevice and i never posted about it
Sachin=GOD Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 :boring: Thats what happens when you use BlackBerry :giggle:
