velu Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 What about software ?its ios rip off ..I actually used this rom once and most of themes and stuff is paid and many of language is chinese apple of china :giggle: people discuss about xiaomi in forums .. looks like they have lots of own apps and services which are really helpful and not gimmicky .. but they are super friendly to customers .. they take feedback from users and release updates on every friday ( UI related ) :hatsoff:
Sachin=GOD Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Irrespective of how good Xiaomi is, Indians won't buy their phones in large numbers unless the image of "China made" phones changes. Xiaomi certainly is different from other Chinese brands but they will have to work hard and have a very aggressive marketing strategy to convince Indians of that.

Old guy Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 apple of china :giggle: people discuss about xiaomi in forums .. looks like they have lots of own apps and services which are really helpful and not gimmicky .. but they are super friendly to customers .. they take feedback from users and release updates on every friday ( UI related ) :hatsoff: can you put cyanogen type rom on it easily ?
velu Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 can you put cyanogen type rom on it easily ? yes.. xiaomi themselves are close with cyanogen like oppo.. OEMs who dont rely on nework providers are super friendly with ROM guys .. good example is oppo :cantstop:

Sachin=GOD Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Android One rumors get specific on release details One of the bigger announcements we got from Google during its I/O keynote address was word of the forthcoming Android One initiative. The project gives assistance to OEMs interested in releasing low cost, good quality handsets running a very Nexus-like stock Android build. We heard about a few manufacturers who would be participating, were teased with promises of sub-$100 price tags, and were told that we’d see things get underway sometime this fall. This week, a new report out of India attempts offer a little more detail about those plans, including a more precise release window and insight into Google’s advertising strategy. According to these sources, we can narrow-down that fall window to October, where the release of the first Android One hardware in India will arrive in advance of the Diwali festival, which occurs in the latter part of the month. We also get reports that Google plans to spend something like $17 million on advertising for this Android One retail launch, not an insignificant sum when you consider that Google’s not even the one selling any hardware here. Instead, it benefits from turning more feature phone users into Android users, a feat it hopes to accomplish with the help of the very low price points at which this Android One hardware will sell. Following India, Android One should be coming to other newly industrialized countries, including Indonesia. http://pocketnow.com/2014/07/16/android-one-release?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Original article - http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2014-07-15/news/51542332_1_google-i-o-sundar-pichai-android

Sachin=GOD Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 How's battery life' date='HTC seems kinda low..Am usually out of charge[/quote'] Bad. Even a mildly heavy day of use means I have to charge at the end of the day while heavy use means I have to charge in the evening. I've bought a portable charger and keep it with me all the time.
Old guy Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 How's battery life' date='HTC seems kinda low..Am usually out of charge[/quote'] do you have low signal ? in india with 3g it can last me day but nothing special m8 is much better but still if battery is not good enough get one of the phones with 3000+ mah battery
