ViruRulez Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I am not sure who he is but just found it on youtube. Some are exaggerated but overall the stand up comedy act is good. A good watch if you have not seen it previously. lEiGsUw5wYE Nn5jlrxcpkI UJWcrRgQse4
surajmal Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Russell Peters needs to get of the stage or find some new material. His schtick is getting old.
surajmal Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 ^That video is 6 years old. I know. His new stuff is of the same tune. Guy has been getting rich on NRI dollars (and some chinese).
ViruRulez Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Seeing this guy on youtube for the first time today. Seems awesome. I cannot stop my laughter. One of the best comedian ever perhaps. Here are a few more I found. Nm-z5smrrT8 -qtrAMK7_Qk

CSK Fan Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 This assshole has made millions in his career making fun of Indians to mostly white audience...bloody fa.g.got... looks like one & acts like one :finger: The ability to laugh at one-self is a virtue and its seen in people comfortable with who they are. Of course insecure people might take it personally or feel offended without understanding
Mariyam Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 The ability to laugh at one-self is a virtue and its seen in people comfortable with who they are. Of course insecure people might take it personally or feel offended without understanding Agreed. But the ability to laugh at non funny, repetitive, ott 'jokes' with wild gestures and histrionics is not a virtue. It is simply being pretentious. Russel Peters is strictly ok for a one time laugh. Thats about it. Whats worse is that he goes on to act in a totally retarded Bollywood movie, the same kind that he like to repetitively and unimaginatively mock in his shows. Reminds me of a joke I read in the Readers Digest on a rainy day at my aunt's during a boring family get-together: Just before the US liberated invaded Iraq, citing WMD/democracy/Osama/Yeti/Yoda etc, they went around looking for allies. The French did not share their views on the war and didn't support them. Then the American editor of a leading French American trade magazine, published a 'joke' in the comments section: When a Frenchman listens to a joke, he laughs twice. First time for etiquette and the second time when he finally understands it. In the next edition, A Frenchman replied, quoting the same text that the American editor had published, and then adding: When an American listens to a joke he never laughs. ( implying that the American neither has the manners nor the understanding :P ) Would you want to be the American or the Frenchman? Oblivious or Pretentious? Think it over.:winky:
punjabi_khota Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 He is the greatest brown comedian in North America.
Mariyam Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 He is the greatest brown comedian in North America. Tbh, many of your spontaneous one liners here on ICF make me laugh more than RP's rehearsed 'jokes'. :P So, I don't buy that greatest comedian story. Vir Das is better than him. Not North American, but definitely more spontaneous.
1983-2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 u guys need to watch jimmy carr or russell howard
surajmal Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 robin williams is the best. comedy just oozes out of him.
ViruRulez Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 The ability to laugh at one-self is a virtue and its seen in people comfortable with who they are. Of course insecure people might take it personally or feel offended without understanding ++ To give an example, I hear most of the sardar jokes from sardars. So, not a big deal. And from what I saw in the videos he was making Chinese jokes infront of Chinese, Arab jokes in front of Arabs and so on. I am seeing him for the first time in those videos but to be honest, they are good. As said by p_k he is one of the best brown comedians I have seen outside India.
surajmal Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 People need to realize in the north american context (more so canadian, since he's from canada), Russell peters is a quota comedian. That is the only reason he got his initial chances in just for laughs festival in montreal. Otherwise, Russell peters is a comedy club performer (at best).
