Cricket Tragic Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 He may not be the best bowler and is certainly not a test material for me' date=' it was Dhoni who handled him wrongly. When a batsmen is set on a flat deck, there are few bowlers who can make some impact. Dhoni gave him 2 overs early on, he bowled well and then was removed and Dhoni brought on Raina and Rohit so that their batsmen can set their eyes. Why not he continued his spell. No bowler will be bowling well these start stop spells. Every one goes for runs in PP and slog overs whether it is Malinga. Important is to take wickets early and if he was bowled earlier more when BD were 39/1 in 10 overs rather than bowling Raina and Rohit, he might have been more effective than what he was and could have taken a wicket or two. Firstly [b']I do not even understand bowling Raina and Rohit when opposition batsmen are under pressure, scoring less than 3 RPO and you bring part timers to given them easy runs, at least brings Jaddu who is playing as a bowler and can be more effective than part timers and if he is not effective why he is even playing at first place. Remember the CT match vs Pakistan in 2009? They were 3 down for about 60 and Virat Kohli was bowling. He probably thought that it would be a good time to get through some overs from the part-time bowlers since the batsmen were not taking chances. It rarely works because if the batsmen get set, even the main bowlers you have been saving will get smashed. Defensive? Yes. But also understandable given our bowling resources.
Needforspeed Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 If Vinay is fit for the next match' date=' I see Dinda being dropped. Pathan has one more match to salvage himself[/quote'] What next match? :--D
Dravid_TheWall Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 What a wicket by Irfan, excellent bowling. Now fans of "no skill bowlers" will say but he picked up the dangerous Afridi
Magneto Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dinda was easily the best pacer today. Pity Dhoni bowled him two overs short.
hari504504 Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 So..whats it for the finals ? Dinda has redeemed himself - pbly needs to share the new ball with Irfan with VK on first change Praveen should be done for the series - Rahul in the finals ?.. But guess Dhoni being Dhoni..will go unchanged..
ShebbySB Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Dinda has been the best Indian seamer today.
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dinda has been the best Indian seamer today. This is the problem with India.. no bowler is consistent.. one match they crap... next match they are okay.

But guess Dhoni being Dhoni..will go unchanged.. Dinda, Pathan, V Koomar, Ashwin and R Sharma. We don't need so many batsmen. Dhoni has barely got a hit. If the batting flops, then we have to accept it. I think they will go unchanged or just bring in Koomar and keep Yuseless at 7.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 the fickle bastards of ICF are goin at it. no mention of how flat these pitches are, how there is never anything in it for the bowlers. 300 is par here. yeah, irfan screwed up in the last game, but those guys actually batted well so how bout some credit to them, u *****s.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Irfan needs abit of assistance and today was an off day on a flat pitch...PK - TIME IS UP..an average of 40 over 2 yrs of ODI's is a disgrace, he should be dropped for RSharma. Dinda did crap last game but today was our best bowler, we can only judge what we see and aged 27 he doesnt have the benefit of looking for potential/having raw qualities which can be honed, he has to perform. Dont see him having a future for India, better off giving Aaron/Yadav a go.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 ALL indian bowlers need assistance from the track to do well. otherwise most will go 5 an over. its just a fact. subcon cricket is all about who can outscore the other, the wickets arent a factor, its a matter of runs vs runs. u cant call for the end of their careers because there is nobody else that can replace them. besides, dinda bowled alright today.

I know Dinda did well today. Zak, Munaf, Bhaji and to some extent the old PK do well on flat pitches as they bowl a tight line and use good variations. "Fast" bowlers who have no control like Dinda, Nehra+ Yadav in Aus will go for runs.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 dunno what the quotation marks are for, yadav is as fast as anyone in intrnational cricket right now. but yeah, he goes for loads of runs
jairamesh Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Well bowled irfan and Dinda in today's game vs Lanka, NOT
The Dark Horse Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 You're never out of the indian team if you're a bowler. If not this series you'll be picked for the next:P
