Do you want a batsman who makes an amazing 153* and is there until the end when his team wins the game over a career spanning 132 tests where his 4th innings average is 35 and who after this knock in 1999 had just 1 more 100+ knock again in a game won by his team over 69 tests while other colleagues of his(Chanderpaul, Sarwan) have way many more? OR Do you want a batsman who averages nearing 40 in 4th innings over a 185 test career with an unbeaten 100 in a record 4th innings chase just 3 years ago and other matchsaving matchwinning(whatever that means) contributions in the last 5 years and one who has an average of 56 in the 4th innings in the last 4 years(42 tests)/an average of 50 in last 50 tests in 4th innings? Agree would really like to see Sachin or for that matter Dravid play such an innings. But how many players have actually played such an innings? Lara's 153 is obvious ,Gilly's knock in Perth 99 and ofcourse Laxman has played the mohali knock .Apart from them i cant even remember any other great players(Kallis Waugh or Ponting or Dravid) in recent memory playing a similar knock not just Sachin.

One of the most absurd words thrown around in cricket today. This, i believe, is often used by inzi's fans. If someone averages 100 in matches won and 5 in matches lost, does that make him the biggest match winner or the biggest match loser??

Where do I claim that , please read again,Sachin the best batsmen anyone of us will ever see in their lifetimes,he started scoring big runs centuries in ODI I believe after 5 years, he started contributing and batting well in the second innings more successsfully in last few years, Who is to say though if Richards, Lara, WEREN'T AS TALENTED, BUT THEY PLAYED MORE CARE FREE, LIKE SEHWAG,SANGAKARRA'S HUNDRED RECENTLY WAS A MATCH WINNING ONE .The good thing is he is batting as good as I have seen in test's, next 3 years could be g8 for him.

SACHIN'S FANS ARE MOSTLY OBSSESSED WITH STATS, then we look at a Kallis or Dravid averages, or say he played for soo many years, it is his game that makes him special, range of strokes, timing, stamina, ability to dominate, technically correct yet flamboyant,when he is batting well, he looks to be unsurmountable, ability to invent new strokes, ramp and lap shot,play all around, front or back foot, in air on the ground, at home with pacers, spinners, slow or fast surface , overall the reason we love him most is the person he is.

Then why Lara wasnt convincingly able to win a match after Walsh and Ambrose retired ? Do you remember a single match winning knock played by him from 2000 till he retired ?
