yoshi Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 he must be tired. he is 32 he has to stand in the field for two days and then go out and bat and the way he bats is very explosive but high energy.
achilles Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I disagree with you. This guy is a phenom. And this is the way he plays.
Hell Raiser Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Australians wants him to play his shots in the air on the off side and Sehwag obliges and is falling in the trap easily. That's the way he has been for all of his career. Sometimes these kind of shots come off and sometimes doesn't. The least thing he can do when he starts his innings is to play ground shots rather than playing in the air.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 IN the first innings over half the Australian team had packed the off side/slips and still he kept playing at those wide deliveries, has he forgot how to play any other shots or that there is a whole field he can hit the ball to? tbh i did not realise his away record was so bad, i find it frustrating to watch him especially when we are batting in trouble, drop him or move him down the order and bring in Rohit/Mukund to open Ponting was brilliant in leaving the wide stuff Ishant was bowling at him forcing him to bowl straight which he would then pull for a 4 on the leg side!
adi B Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 sehwag is a ftb, even his centuries in oz were on good batting strips.... in conditions where it swings a llittle, just bowl an outswing, he`ll surely edge one.... he has lost his earlier temperament of leaing the balls initially, now he is just cowlashing at everything :((
BeautifulGame Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Of any batsmen (top 7 ) in international cricket who has played atleast 10 matches away from sub continent he has the 2nd worst average in last 3 years. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?batting_positionmax1=7;batting_positionval1=batting_position;class=1;continent=1;continent=3;continent=4;continent=5;filter=advanced;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=7;orderby=batting_average;orderbyad=reverse;qualmin1=10;qualval1=matches;spanmin1=15+Mar+2008;spanval1=span;template=results;type=batting Even wk batsmen like Kamran Akmal and Boucher have a better batting average.Just shows how awful he has been in last 3 years away from sub continent :((
adi B Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Move this to jokes section please. janaab , sachhai se bhaagiye mat :--D
Sachin=GOD Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 sehwag is a ftb' date= even his centuries in oz were on good batting strips.... in conditions where it swings a llittle, just bowl an outswing, he`ll surely edge one.... he has lost his earlier temperament of leaing the balls initially, now he is just cowlashing at everything :(( its pathetic as to how people classify even good innings as ones made on "flat" pitches just to justify the tag of FTB. The guy is one of the most successful openers in the last 2 decades and has made runs in almost all countries and here we've got people trying to show how he is a FTB and calling him "cowlasher"
Rameshraja17 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Is Sehwag fit in to be a test opener role ????? I guess sehwag scored his last century outside INDIA is way before at the year of 2008. I agree that he is talented and once he kicks off , he can completely take the game away from opposition ??? But Big question is is he fit into Test opener role of INDIA ????? he might have scored big 300s and 200s , but how many matches you think because sehwag's poor shot selection and bad footwork , INDIA lost wicket very early and lead way for Innings downfall. if a player can win 2 out 10 games , then he can be the indirect reason for team's downfall in other 8 matches. wat u think needs to be done here.
NeutralCat Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Shewag;s average away from home has always been below par, never will be considered a great, just a ftb.
vamos_rafa Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Even MSD has done better than Sehwag in the last 3 abroad tours. That really sums it up. And as an opener, it's time we stop that experiment that Dada had started long back in 2002.
akshayxyz Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 first option is absurd, he is even worse ODI player. in tests, just bring him down the order. He is still too good to be risked at the opening slot.
Lord Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 we accuse our big 3 n forget this guy.hes been failing again n again.sack the taklu

BeautifulGame Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 He never was. Even his best knocks away from sub-continent in the past has mostly come when there is little in the pitch for fast bowlers to test openers. Its just that he too good a player to be kept on the bench Ganguly played him as an opener. He should drop the order to no.4 as soon as possible.Thats his best and natural position imo

saneindian Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 His reputation is in tatters after the dismal tours of SA, Eng and Aus. he may still gonto hit a 300 while playing in the sub continent in the next 2 years, biut these failures in the last 10 tests will hang around him forever.
jusarrived Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Shewag is not reliable enuf to play down the order ..either he opens or hes out
