Singham Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Yes, drop him. He's been going after this personal milestone (which isn't really a milestone whatsoever... I mean WTF is 100 international hundreds... there never was a milestone like that) And don't tell me this is a media hyped milestone and Sachin doesn't care. He does care. He refused a single while batting in the 4th innings against Sri Lanka. It clearly showed that he was going after the milestone. Even though India wasn't guaranteed to win at the time when he refused, he still did it so that he gets to his milestone. Clearly, in his long career, despite all the great achievements that have helped India win, we have seen many times in the past that Sachin often values personal milestones above the team cause. After reading this above **** , gonna restrict myself from using abusive words because this is a public forum.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 What did you think' date= Tendulkar is going to be playing for another 10 years? He's going pretty soon as well. But to make a thread about why there is a separate yardstick for both is just being blind and/or ignorant. Based on what I've seen so far i wouldn't be surprised. BCCI needs to come up with a plan to phase all the seniors in within next year or so. By phasing out I mean letting Laxman go now with Perth being his last Test, Dravid after the series and SRT after the Eng home series. Separate yardstick as most people are out for Dravid and Laxman's head but hardly anyone called out Tendulkar with most saying he is "looking good", "in great touch" etc. even though he hasn't done much.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 After reading this above **** ' date=' gonna restrict myself from using abusive words because this is a public forum.[/quote'] Everyone's entitled to his/her opinion. You may think Tendulkar should be in the team till he decides to retire, but some others think he should go now. Why get abusive and personal over difference in opinion?

The way Tendulkar batted its much better than batting out there looking totally clueless. Its quite embarassing watching these guys batting like they've never played cricket in their lives. Laxman is shocking, didn't expect this from him. He's been there winning us games in tough situations, but you can't excuse he has done NOTHING in the England tour and now in Aus. But yeah its time for serious changes. Bite the bullet, get all youngsters in and let them learn their trade at home for the next 2 years. There are other things that need to be done, such as getting players more practice overseas, but that's for another thread
Texan Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 After reading this above **** ' date=' gonna restrict myself from using abusive words because this is a public forum.[/quote'] I expected that kind of a response from someone on this forum, because very often on this forum, any opinion that criticizes Sachin is often met with abuse.
Dravid_TheWall Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Wow! Shot dead :hysterical: Yeah sure... now you can go ahead and start praying to the "God" or maybe construct a temple for him :haha: Maybe that will help him get better than Ponting & Kallis :giggle: :giggle:
prashsenga Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 I expected that kind of a response from someone on this forum, because very often on this forum, any opinion that criticizes Sachin is often met with abuse. But, it's good that there are level-headed individuals like you also who respect everyone's opinion. There is negative opinion about Dravid and Laxman too and justifiably so because they have been poor in this series. There are calls for Dravid's head despite him being outstanding in the last 12 months. But I still agree, despite his achievements, it's time to look beyond these 3. Even Sehwag for the careless manner in which he's getting out, needs to bat lower down the order now. + 1 to that. all i am saying is we need to get the youngsters in quick and that means letting God know that he is mortal and time has come up... btw i strongly feel laxman and dravid need to go:dance: as for sehwag..lets see what he does in adelaide.. else he is also rocking the same boat..
nitinbwj Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 hahahaha....wait n watch he would still outscore everyone in ODI's..and whats that talk about ponting and kallis gr8er than him in ODI's..r u kidding me..have u all forgotten the 90's when india played with a single batsmen called SRT all through 5-6 years and more often than not he delivered. Stop trolling and wait till the end of CB series
BeautifulGame Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Laxman and Dravid should retire now and Sachin should retire after the England. Anything else they will only be playing for stats and hurting the Indian team in my view.

I am just afraid that I been telling myself that how i will be watching cricket after SRT... but hope it doesnt change to .. 'i hope he retires soon..'

Anything else they will only be playing for stats and hurting the Indian team in my view. I'd much rather have Dravid for the series against England at home rather than Tendulkar. Laxman should not play in Adelaide. He is just blocking the way for Rohit Sharma. Sehwag also should be reminded that he needs to perform. Pick Rahane for next Test, but get Sehwag back in for Tendulkar for the next series.
Andrew Peter Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Laxman and Dravid should retire now and Sachin should retire after the England. Anything else they will only be playing for stats and hurting the Indian team in my view. why do you need a whole brand new lot of Batsmen in the Side? Dravid and Laxman are going sooner which means atleast Number 3 , Number 5 and Number 6 are up for grabs plus the two openers Gambo /Sehwag arent permanent members either considering their performance in England/Australia . So there are atleast 4-5 batting positions up for grabs in the team considering you want to rebuild for series in England, Aus and Sa, thus from hereon if Sachin even plays for a couple of years more considering that he performs the best wouldnt be a bad option.

Why not play both if you want to take revenge for the result of the last series ? Tendulkar had a great last series against England ( in India) where he also hit that match winning hundred at chennai. He is playing in the England Series at any cost , no two ways about it .

If say Sach played like how Dravid played in england in this series then no one should have questioned...just becuase he top scored with couople of fiftys doesnt make any sense not to question his retirement.. At the end of day its his call....but he cant claim he will play till he enjoys the game while team dont even draw matches away from home dont make any sense..
The Outsider Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Tendulkar should be the first to go out of the three. At least Dravid and Laxman are committed to playing test matches unlike Tendulkar who prefers IPL. Of course, given the rabid fan following he has this will not happen.
Texan Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Thank God you are just another internet warrior' date=' nothing else![/quote'] You too! :hysterical: You'd have Sachin playing for the next 20 years :cantstop:
Sachinism Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Laxman and Dravid should retire now and Sachin should retire after the England. Anything else they will only be playing for stats and hurting the Indian team in my view. They're destroying their own reputations more than anything. Can't blame them wanting to go out on their own terms and a high. Selectors need to grow a pair and push players out. 2 seasons at home, perfect to groom the next generation

Seeing how poor they are at the format and still manage to get contracts... Yeh they don't care about IPL So what kept Dravid in the team the last few years, considering its the fan base that decides who plays for India
