Gambhir wants 'rank turners' in India

The truth is now of these tracks in Australia are rank green tops, they have been great cricket pitches, and the Indians have been found out. It's obvious that India don't like tracks that have pace and bounce on them, and GG has just proved he has no clue and is not interested, I guess Adelaide is going to be another thumping, we are a laughing stock.

These legends are just SORE LOOSERS who just want to divert the attention of media from their poor performances to pitches. This kind of statement from Gambhir shows he can't play on overseas pitches, so going by his own statement, I feel he should not be included in Indian team whenever we go abroad.

Only Gambhir, Sehwag or Virat could've called a spade a spade in front of the entire world. I see NOTHING wrong with what Gambhir has said. And gotta love the dig he took at Siddle and other bowlers of being rated only after coming here :hehe: At the same time, I would've liked Gambhir to atleast score some runs before shooting off his mouth the way he has.

Disappointing comments from Gambhir. Although I agree with what he is saying (playing to strengths) the timing for such comments was poor. There's gonna be plenty of talk of India being sour losers now. Only way to silence it is with a win in Adelaide.

Gambhir wants india to beat these countries on turners and we do prepare turners..thats why our spinners bcom deadly some times and take 5 wickets often..these same bowlers cant do anything on foreign tracks. Aswhwin is probably the BEST Spinner Inda has as on today and most of you will agree to me but he is flopping out there..........Ojha is quite close to Ashwin but i bet if he plays he will also FLOP. west india was a no 1 team as they had the best battery of pace bowling and some batsmen who could score some runs of pace bowlers......same about australia, even today england is trying for that position, if india wants to be no 1 india has to focus on handling fAST BOWLERS..GROMMING THEM and teaching there batsman how to handle fast bowlers. My respect for Sachin, VVS and dravid is no where close to what it was before...it seems they also suck to FAST BOWLERS and play spinners like GODS.

Add to this when is the last time lost a series in India ? ...we are always strong in our own country so why you need rank turners ?
which team has beaten india in india after 2004? a test series.. and yes, gambhirs statement is being misunderstood..in media he was quoted that why batsman technique exposes on seaming n bouncing conditions for which he replied that if we would prepare rank turners, then the visiting batsman technique also would get exposed i hope indian curators are listening to this and don't show their slavish attitude where a mediocre player like ian bell would be given a flat track to score 200 in india

Yep. He could be justifying his own poor form under the garb of "we'll show what your made of in India". He should really be scoring in excess of 100 in the 4th Test or its gonna be a major slap in the face for him.

People who r calling these rank green tops' date=' have no idea what an actual rank green top and fast pitch is. The Perth pitch where Indian team got out for 161 and 171 was a perfect Test match pitch. There was something for everyone, bowlers and the batsmen but our batsmen don't want to confess their mistakes, thats why they are SORE LOOSERS.[/quote'] Yes, but nothing for spinners as the Aussies r pathetic in facing spinners....

Yes' date=' but nothing for spinners as the Aussies r pathetic in facing spinners....[/quote'] Thats not a big deal bro. Why don't we instead question all the 6 of our top 6 who, despite having collectively scored more than 20,000 runs, get pwned by the likes of Siddle and Pattinson? Although there is nothing wrong "in essence" with what Gambhir has said, we are pretty much justifying what the world calls us - "Flat Track Bullies".

All those effing loosers who r bit(h!ng about Gambhir should know that he is the most hardworking, patriotic, reliable batsman in India... One Indian player who is proud of being n Indian n plays with his heart is Gambhir!! On topic, there is absolutely nothing wrong with what Gambhir said...We shouldnt have patta or seaming tracks at all.. It should be a spin minefield.. But no pattass!!!

Definitely. But why say this during a series in Australia. I know he is patriotic and hardworking but these comments were the ones of a sore loser. He is saying he is basically suggesting we are incapable of playing in seaming conditions. International batsmen should be able to play everywhere, especially ones of a team aspiring to be No.1, don't you think? and please stop the trash talk, don't be an internet tough guy (no hate).

agree he hsould look to improve his game like he did before.. he is very talented and can stay for long hours at wickets he needs to understand that people now after 7-0 will make more greener tracks u cant whine every time after losing he should find a way to score here people hated kohli after that middle finger incident but he imo tried his best to improve his game so now no body is going after him if he can get 100 next game it would be ideal come back and probably start of so called redemption of india after seniors retire

I can already see the formula... Test match 1: A bigger dustbowl than 1930s Kansas, with an Indian series win pinned on the touring team failing to adjust. Test match 2: Road. Draw. Test match 3: Road. Draw. If there are more than 3 tests scheduled, test match 2 becomes another dustbowl, with the remainder of the series prepared as tarmac.

Gambhir should realize it is the bane of being #1 in the world. When Australia were on top, they had to prepare a LOT of flat decks so test matches lasted the distance. Most oppositions were getting blown away by their world-class bowling attack within 4 days, and Australia had to prepare absolute flat decks to make test matches at least competitive. It is only recently, now that they are not the same bunch of world-beaters anymore, that they have made tracks that are a little bowler-friendly. This is something the #1 team in the world just has to live with. It is those same flat decks that India used to their advantage, and used it very well I might add, to record those exciting wins in Aussieland. On how many of these decks, the ones we have seen this series, do you see Ganguly hitting 144 on? On how many of these decks do you see Kumble taking 7 wickets on? Those 2003 and 2007 flat decks are, indirectly, what propelled India to the top of the world rankings. Isn't it funny to see how much like the 2000 series this one is panning out to be? Tendulkar fighting a battle all on his own is what both these series have been about. Yes, it does not help morale that he does not have a hundred to his name yet. But that is besides the point. Gambhir's reaction closely matches Wasim Akram's pitch reports when he see grass on a pitch. Grass on the pitch has usually been a norm in Australia, except when they were on top over the last decade and a half. And the BCCI had enough of a hold with the ECB to have series in England scheduled in peak summer when the ball does not the swing much. Now with England "waking up", of sorts, that is out of the picture. And with Cricket Australia now needing to get public to watch cricket, they need a winning team first before they start thinking about 5-day tests. So Gambhir better get ready to face the music. Pitches will remain this way for a few years. Having said that, this is quite obviously as much a rant as anything else. From someone that has clearly been found out, and is unable to fall back on much else. Of course, he does have the IPL and its glories to fall back on nowadays I guess. Things like these are what tell me India should not make the mistake of naming Gambhir captain, EVER. As much as people would like to compare him Ganguly, Ganguly had a clear method to his madness. Gambhir is just sheer madness and nothing more.

OP' date=' please add my post number 45 to the first post of yours to clarify a few things.[/quote'] Sane updated OP... Still how does it make Gambhir correct in the current situation.. Our last series loss is 2004...so we are unbeaten for almost 8 years in India ...so for what reason Gambhir wants Rank turners ?

Frustration with the flat pattas we have welcomed teams with. Also he isn't asking for doctored pitches, think he wants to see spinnging tracks or tracks that take spin from day 3 onwards, not the batting beauties we gave to the kiwis, Aussies or WI recently.
