I think people should boycott IPL' date='even sachin cannot be bothered to put in the work after getting millions every year.[/quote'] Too many powerful backers need the IPL to succeed though - one of them is even the president of the BCCI. There is no question that India is headed for minnow status in international cricket if players keep earning gazillions from a third rate tournament like the IPL but the likes of Srinivasan could care less about the destruction of Indian cricket as long as the money keeps rolling in.

That's true and as an Indian cricket fan it pains me to say so

These immortal words from legendary Shane Warne pretty much sum up India since the World Cup. Wonder when will the team be back home playing IPL. Even if we win every game at home for the next 2 years the wins will seem so hollow after the Eng and Aus tour fiascos :sniffle:
That is the most unfortunate part. Yeh dag ab nahin mitane wala even if win every single test in next two years by innings and 250 runs :((

The only four people that can change this is VVS, Sachin, Dravid, and to some extent Ganguly. But then again, when they themselves are missing International tournaments to play the IPL, we know where their priorities are. We're rightly getting thrashed and I'm loving every minute of it.

Funny thing is that most of these players won't play Asia cup as they will be tired and will need a break Before IPL
Maybe thats a blessing in disguise :winky:

Pak might have gone 0-9 on their most recent tour of Oz, but at least they got close in Sydney test and a few of the short-form games (couple of ODIs and the only T20). We don't look capable of doing even that.

But you forget we can make statements like "No we are not embarrassed" or "But we beat them 2 - 0 at home" or "The fans need to stick by us ever after 14 losses in a row away from home" They the team should just be honest with us fans and say that they don't give a **** about playing for the nation or the fans, they are happy earning $$$$$$ in some crap, low class IPL.

To improve standards in Indian cricket, IPL should be a freemarket without quota restrictions on international/domestic players. Let the best talent play and perform in the XI. That will push the best talent and the most hardworking will be picked.

I had tickets to the game at the MCG but gave them away' date=' and also to the ODI's I am not going to waste my time and money on this disgraceful, pathetic bunch of dogs.[/quote'] Surprising part is that you actually found a person willing to buy/accept the ticket :omg: Who would want to waste a day of their life watching these bunch of overpaid lazy stars get their @$$es whooped

Most popular will be picked

The guys I sold my tickets to were Aussie fans' date=' the sad thing is even my Aussie friends are feeling sorry for Indian cricket.[/quote'] And I am surprised they are willing to watch such a mismatch. It's the same thing as someone buying tickets to Indo-Kenya game

Can't Bat, Can't Bowl, Can't Field.. Yet They Somehow Reach On Top Of The Rankings By Winning As A Team. Well, This Is The Complete Statement. And It Shall Happen Afte This Series And From The Time To Come.

I agree with you Ultimate, at least I got my money back, they can't believe that this so called "world class" line up has been so disgraceful, one thing about Aussie fans/crowds they love a competitive game and all of them have said to me that they are really disgusted that India has not even put up any hint of a fight in any of the games.

Thats a good idea (not that its likely to happen though). Even less likely that test cricket in the world will be run by a franchise/club system regardless of nationality, but that'll be even better for Indian cricket.

No we do not want to go English premier league way.
