Indeed. Sachin might have a few good series left' date=' having him in the middle order might be useful to guide the younger players.[/quote'] He could not guide himself in this series.:--D

http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2012/content/story/551574.html Is this why he is not retiring? To collect max price at IPL. Correct me if I am wrong. But is not the case that an Indian International can collect higher price at IPL then non international. If Laxman retired now before auction, would the price he is able to commnad decrease?
No. It would be less if you never played an International. Theory :fail: Example, Ganguly's base price when he wasn't picked was pretty high.

Not fail. Only asking for clarification.
Anyways, the fact that you think these guys will stoop to that level to prolong their test careers just to get a better IPL base price itself means :fail:

WTF are they waiting for??? Why no announcment? This is ridiculous. Looks like they want to carry on.
They are playing the "wait and watch" game. They will gauge how things are befre the next home series and if people have forgotten the previous series they will go on.

Yup! This is something that players from the sub-continent need to learn to do. Wake away from the game whilst on top. A name that immediately comes to mind is Sanath Jayasuriya. I was there wfor his last ODI at the Oval last summer, since I was working there as a steward, and it was so silly for him to drag on his career and come back once he had decided to retire way before that. I have a feeling Sachin will retire once he gets that 100th 100.

I guess RD will get one home farewell series. Dont think that VVS will be given even that. SRT may be present till the next year because after RD and VVS, there needs to be atleast one senior batsman in the team given that our tail is long and starts with Dhoni, not to mention Sehwag usually throwing his wicket away after getting starts

Both should not be selected to play tests now- there fielding is MISERABLE and their batting has also gone down- NO LOGIC to select them. Guys- cricket is not a Bolywood or hollywood Job where experience helps- This is a Total Physical Job- I am 39 and I open my company corpoorate team and I know its real tough to run behind the cricket ball at 39 with full pace- at 29 one can sprint at a different speed- Batsman shud retire at 36 and fast bowlers at 34 ideally.

Well done Dravid. Correct decesion, you are a hero. VVS now is the time or at least next month. Let Dravid bask in glory and rightly dont infringe on it. But end of next month, announce your retirement for your sake and the welfare of indian team. DO NOT CARRY ON

Hope Rahane clicks as well thatlll give the selectors some headache. My ideal India batting XI for next home test is Gambhir, Mukund/Rahane, Pujara, Tendulkar, Sehwag, Kohli

Dravid, Laxman legacy is their decade of consistency it has no chance of being tarnished by one or two series Dravid will always be remember as the WALL And right now other than Pujara and possibly Rohit (if he can find consistency) no one is screaming out for a place in the team

Dravid lacked consistent since 2007.
