India-KXIP fan Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Finally we will see India's new generation. Thanks Dravid for all the memmories, what a champion batsmen :hatsoff: VVS and Sachin should also retire as soon as possible.
The Dark Horse Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 as expected a selfless decision will miss u champ +1
Vikas Bhatt Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Thanks Dravid for the great innings and knocks. For staving many a defeat with grit and courage. For winning many abroad for us where no one could stand up and for being the spine of our batting for much decade in many a memorable overseas and home wins. You were the backbone of the team. Yours was the fortifying strength that defined our best cricket team in the history of India's game and yours will be the loss most felt and irreplaceable. Thank you for the wonderful memories and contributions. Indian cricket will be most poorer without you. But no fort and wall can survive the ravages of time and so crumble it does. Thanks for everything you gave to Indian cricket
Vikas Bhatt Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 It's good he isn't angling for a farewell series at home and trying to end on a high, if the news report and rumour mill is true. BCCI as usual has denied knowing of any such plans by the Wall. Wish they would deny having an IPL this year as well. The bitter irony of someone nicknamed the Wall is the fact that he has also been bowled most in the game's history. Poetic or irony? Take your pick.
Vikas Bhatt Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 And so it begins finally - India's era of greatness. A time when we no longer can continue a proud tradition of great spinners and great bastmen. So here we are - No great batsmen, no great spinners and never had any great fast bowlers. The end of our test cricket sooner than later.
rajmarie Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Should have done this a long time back' date=' much before [b']England series..when he was struggling. I hope this rumor comes true tomorrow. Laxman and Sachin should also join him Dravid was the only bright light in Eng series...although I agreed...that he should be called it a day after End series itslef. BCCI also didnt groom future batsman when WI tour India by continuing to play the 3 seniors. Hoping VVS + Sachin + Dhoni (from Test) joins in & announce their retirement.
special K Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 India's greatest test batsmen. Better then Tendulker in tests.
Needforspeed Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I think this is premature. Unless there is an official announcement, we cannot accept it. Last time there was a thread of Laxman's retirement when some 'sources' were quoted as saying that Laxman is going to announce his retirement, only to be later denied by Laxman. So let's save our goodbyes till we are sure Dravid that is going to go.
Indian Army Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Thank you Mr Rahul Dravid. I remember his debut at lords like it was yesterday. Saturday afternoon, flicking between the Euro 1996 and his innings. Jennifer Lopez with her debut tune, looking fine. For all thoses giving it the large, disrespecting Dravid, laxman and tendulakar with the they should retire as well rubbish. you will soon realise what we had, once it gone. idiots. Be happy. We have a man who averaged virtually 60 for the best part of his carrear, who should the world India can play outside Asia and compete. As he comes to the end, Now is the time to say, "you are a god". I feel so sad that this last 2 away series have stained their reputations with the people who are idiots, because before this even idiots from Eng, India, Aus, Pak knew they were real greats. Now it will be, but what ahppened in the last 2 series reather than 175 tests over 15 years. LOVE YOU RAHUL, SACHIN.
