Dravid got 3 centuries in eng tour. Tendulkar was awesome just a year ago and carries so much pressure. Lax is past it yet but still good for home. But we must replace him with one eye on future. Main problem is Gauti and Lax who are technically flawed and our general mentality. Need new coach man, it is a mental issue and perhaps motivation. sorry but way dravid ,tendulkar and laxman were getting out they looked way out of form dravid was clueless those balls that got him he used to flick them away for fours! laxman is done.. and even at home he will struggle tendulkar has 1 more year left but thats it and they are legends i respect what they did for team but team comes first then individuals right now they are literally not fit enough almost touching 40 and people like rohit waiting if there wasn o talent then i would ve said ok we dont have choice let them play but now they are blocking the places of deserving youngsters and about gambhir its tehnical error even he doesn ot deserves to be team and if he fails again i would ve dropped him what i am saying is they are legends but they still need to perform consistently to warrant a place into side past is past it wont win u matches in present! they are not performing and that article in cric info summed it up virat kohli was the only ondian who could ve gotten into australian side (performance wise) none of these legends were able to make 329 in series which clarke made in 1 innings they dont deserve ot be in team on performance basis and dravid even in england was fluent or in form and before that series he did nothing for 2 years (dont count west indies) also never tell me which team to support unlike u im not blinded by ignorance there are still sane people left in world :winky:

Just read an article on cricinfo and now you are saying Kohli could get in Aus team lol. The people who understand cricket, can see things before the media jump in. Look at all the things I said about Ishant, everyone ripped me until Manjrekar said the same thing :cantstop: You go and ask Ponting if he wants Tendulkar, Dravid, Lax, Viru in his team or Kohli. Kohli wasn't even guaranteed a spot in the Indian team until recently. Maybe you have forgotten Dravid and Ganguly innings at Lords 1996. Kohli scored when the team had already lost. Not to take anything away from him, but he has a long way to go. I do agree with gradual phasing but dropping the entire batting makes you sound like a hurt child. How did they become crap so quickly? There is a problem with the way they approach the game, problem with the coach or infighting. Fill it with youngsters, team will not even win at home. You have to gradually introduce them. First Rohit/Pujara for Lax and Gauti replacement.

Despite all that, Kohli kept improving his game, was the only centurion for India and scored more runs than any of his illustrious team-mates. The only India player who would have merited a place in this Australia side. You can call me fanatic but a lot of my decisions about our bowlers, captain and coach have proved right. who said we will be good. we will be **** for few months but its better then being **** with seniors ...atleast newp layers owuld improve and gain experince wht are we gaining with experienced team? even i dont want to drop every one but these 3 or atleast 2 need to go also if openers dont perform they will go itsn ot about what i think its about performance ideally we should drop no body but for that every one needs to perform its not about my approach or thinking its about a no 8! if u lose that many tests u know there is more then one problem if u dont perform u go out of team simple enough can we agree?

So barring the series against SA, they are not playing any good teams in non SC conditions, and they play BD and Zim quite a lot.

The exception being the SA tour. The only other tours outside SC being Zim and WI.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 they can forget about number 1 with their crap schedule. you can only move up in the rankings by beating teams ranked higher. fewer points for beating lower ranked teams, and you also lose points for draws/losses to teams. home/away doesnt matter, but you need to be playing the 'good' teams. every team they play in the next 3 years is ranked below them, with the xception of SA and AUS. and they will most definitely lose to SA, but i dunno about Aus. those are gonna be their two big series, and their biggest opportunity to move up. the big 4 play each other far more frequently. you cant get there by playing zingabwe and bangsterdesh. hardly any points on offer.

The problem for them is though that they'll not get more points for beating teams like Zim and BD anymore as they are in the top 4, might be 3 as well if they white-wash England. I have always thought reaching #1 is relatively easy but staying there for a long time and asserting dominance is no joke. Hardly any team will be able to do that in this decade, I feel.

The ones who are performing are all uncles who will be retired in a couple of years . They have done really well , but no way is this side good enuf to reach the top.
