Iconoclast Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 One doesn't need these hi-tech devices and confusing clauses to determine that he chucks big time. All this bent arm business is a joke. So why was he cleared by the ICC and why hasn't he been reported again ?
Yoda-esque Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 So why was he cleared by the ICC and why hasn't he been reported again ? For the same reasons Murali wasn't
Ultimate_Game Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 So why was he cleared by the ICC and why hasn't he been reported again ? Coz nobody wants to be the guy who opened the can of worms. After what happened to Darell Hair I doubt any umpire will ever call or report a no-ball due to chucking. They willl prefer someone else does the dirty work for them. As for being cleared by ICC lab conditions and bowlig in a match are 2 different things.
Iconoclast Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 ^^^^ ICC has an entire panel of umpires and match referees who can independently report him. Are you trying to say all these dozens of officials are involved in a conspiracy to show favoritism to Ajmal ? That's hard to believe !
Ultimate_Game Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 ^^^^ ICC has an entire panel of umpires and match referees who can independently report him. Are you trying to say all these dozens of officials are involved in a conspiracy to show favoritism to Ajmal ? That's hard to believe ! Not favoritism, it's just that nobody wants to rock the boat. They know fully well ICC's policy of shooting the messenger and they don't want to be the ones to shake things up. It's the same as someone in a cushy job and looking the other way so that the gravy train continues. After all why would an ICC umpire risk losing such a high paying job :dontknow: Make no mistake anyone who reports a bowler for illegal action willl come under the scanner and attract a lot of heat. Hell, if I were an intl umpire or a referee I would look the other way as well so as not to risk earning thousands of dollars every year for pretty much vacationing round the globe.
goose Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Whitewashed 3-0 by a chucker. England has its ar$e prized open 360 degrees.
ganeshran Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 England cannot hide behind the excuse of Ajmal's action. They were just as flumoxxed by Rehman who has a clean action

Stuge Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 advice to Indian bowlers :Bend it like Ajmal bends, when English comes later this year .. seriously
chota_prakash Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 "When Ajmal was tested, his arm straightened 10 degrees for his off-break and only seven degrees for his doosra and quicker ball. That is apparently less than bowlers such as Andrew Flintoff, Glenn McGrath and Allan Donald, who were measured as part of an ICC study just over 10 years ago." This from the daily Telegraph. Its because he has a 8.5 degree bent arm it looks worse but remember its the Straightning that matters, not how much he is bending it. He is well under the limit. Looks like a case of the English press pouncing on any reason other than themselves.
