Yes, He already had stress fracture injury and its not possible to recover from that sort injury unless they have proper rest. Bowlers have slowed down after stress fracture in the past. But whats encouraging is varun's attitude towards pace. He is not ready to compromise his pace which is a very good news for all of us.
This is not Varun's first stress fracture. So I don't think we'll see a drop in pace. However, even I was under the impression that he was suffering from a foot injury. He even says in this interview that he'll be fit in a month...which just gives him enough time tomake the asia cup squad. A matter of touch and go really.

There was an interveiw in Neo Cricket with Aaron in which I remember him saying that he had cut down on his gym workouts after the first stress fracture he had and was concentrating more on bowling in the nets. I am no expert but I wonder-isn't the best way to avoid future back stress problems is to strengthen the back muscles and that can be best done in a gym?

all of experts say u should bowl more less gym.. bowl tons of overs... thats the best way to become bowling fit :winky: gym depends what ur doing there.. making bulky muscles wont help but yes strengthening techniques are helpful i guess

Hope this is my last injury says pacer Aaron Having missed the tour of Australia due to a stress reaction in his lower back, fast bowler Varun Aaron could only watch the debacle Down Under thinking he could have attempted to put the brakes on the slide, had he stayed fit. But injuries are part-and-parcel of a pacer's career, and Aaron is trying to regain his fitness and his spot in the national fold. The Jharkhand pacer will be reporting to the National Cricket Academy shortly and will then work on his rehabilitation. 'I will be joining the NCA in Bangalore this week and the Delhi Daredevils later on. I hope to be fully fit mid-way through the IPL. For now, I will be reporting at the NCA and will see how the (rehab) schedule goes,' Aaron told MAIL TODAY on Saturday. The 22-year-old consulted a few doctors in Australia and was told his injury was not serious. 'The injury occurred during the West Indies ODI series. After that, I started my rehabilitation. I have just returned from Australia, where I consulted some doctors and had a few scans of my back. There is nothing serious in the injury and I am working hard to get back to peak fitness as soon as possible. 'It was stress reaction. Such injuries are very dodgy. You can't do much about it. I was a bit disappointed about not going to Australia. But I didn't harp much about it,' he said. The India pacer, who played against England in the home ODI series and also the Mumbai Test against West Indies last year, said it is tough to guard against such injuries. 'When you are in the age bracket of 18- 23 years, fast bowlers are more likely to have injuries. So hopefully in the next year or so, I would be free from it. I hope this is my last injury.' Last year too, Aaron didn't participate in the first half of the IPL as he struggled with a quadriceps injury. However, he was pleased that at least this time, it was not a muscle injury. 'Anyhow, it was a bone injury and not a muscle injury. 'You can work on your muscle strength but if a bone breaks, you can't do anything about it.' With Umesh Yadav making his mark in Australia with his pace and venom, Aaron too would be keen to make it back to the Indian team and team up with his good friend to form a genuine pace attack. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/indiahome/indianews/article-2119959/Hope-injury-says-pacer-Aaron.html#ixzz1q6LSdnmi

The DD camp believes Aaron will not play in the IPL. What looked like a niggle when he was ruled out of the Aus tests turned out to be recurrence of stress fracture he's had in the past. He's had such injuries twice in his career and missed out on cricket for 8-9 months on each of those occasions.

these fractures happen to fast bowlers.. and like he said after 2-3fractures there body becomes stronger and after age of 23 he will be less prone to injury he is def good enough for odis and can develop into good bowler btw he will probably miss more then half of ipl ..

Mitchell johnson had 4 stress fracture by the age for 22. Hope works on his body like Johnson did and comes out better after these injuries.
