Sehwag concedes he has to improve his batting. Dashing opener Virender Sehwag on Tuesday conceded that he needed to improve his batting performance at the top of the order to win matches for India in the cricket tri-series and said that he would curb his natural aggressive insitict from the onset. The way Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir was playing in the beginning, I thought we could get a good start but we lost three wickets early," Sehwag said. He admitted that India missed regular skipper Dhoni, who missed today's game because of a one-match ban imposed on him due to slower rate in their last match against Australia. Sehwag also said that they still have the chance to make it to the finals. "We missed Dhoni in this game. But if we play to our potential we can win the remaining two matches and make it to the finals," he said. "We have to pull up our shocks and do well in the two matches left," he added.

Sehwag's batting has been disgraceful and it has been so for a long time How many times is he going to throw his wkt away at third man. The problem is that the selectors and his fans have indulged him for so long by saying ..."that's the way he plays". Well a good batsman adapts and plays according to the situation. He does not.

Because of the way he plays (also his strength), he is bound to have those poor phases What usually happens is that fans judge a player based on what they think an ideal cricketer should be and at times forgett that not all fingers are equal Sehwag is an unique player and arguably Ind's most valuable match winner .... He will strike back with a big score. Players of his nature should be given some space

He needs to bat in the middle order outside Asia. We are wasting his talent by letting him open. In conditions where the ball doesn't swing much, he does alright. But let's accept it, he doesn't have the skill to play the swinging new ball. He should come down the order so that he can take advantage of the batting powerplay when the ball doesn't swing much. He was a middle order batsman before, the switch shouldn't be very difficult and I think he himself has expressed that before.

Sehwag will be a success only with a great/good team around him who will overcome his failures.He will mash mediocre bowling but will come up short against good bowling. This version of Sehwag has simply become a FTB who looks like a novice when facing new ball on bouncier pitches and also pitches with some movement.

It was ample clear by the time 2nd Test started that you need to leave those balls outside off...& atleast try...try to put atleast 1% premium on ur wicket. Yes...on small flat track Indian ground. In bouncy & big Aus ground he is struggling. eg....those catches on 3rd man in Aus....if it has been in India....it was going to go over the 3rd man into the stand as a SIX. So its a failure of Sehwag to understand that & adopt

it was not a dig at dhoni , though it is my fault for the way i phrased it . I was trying to allude to the fact that Dhoni would have scored a Double 100 long before anyone else. He scored 180 + against SL chasing . the only thing that stopped him from scoring double 100 was that the target was too low.

This. People put him down too much and forget what he has done and still has potential to do, he is a great player and will be back. He's out of form for last 1 or 2 years. Every player has a slump of a few years in a very long career.
