Is Ashwin our main spinner now in all formats?

He will do well in SC, no doubt. If fast bowlers do not do their job and take wickets, spinners are always going struggle in Australia. It is the fast bowlers to be blamed here. Aus and SL are playing 4-5 pacers every match and they are doing their job. Their spinners too have been nonexistence.

because Aussie fast bowlers have left some effect on SL batting, but our fast bowlers have been hopeless..once batsmen are set, they are certain to make merry on any bowling. IF fast bowlers are effective, then spinners tend to be effective even more and these are flat pitches, no turn.

You reckon our medium pacers will help Ashwin in home conditions? weird logic.

Just replace Australian pace bowlers with Indian pace bowlers. Doherty will have trouble taking even a single wicket. Our pace bowlers are the biggest culprits

Has got to bowl when we had upper hand in the game. Bowls a **** line on leg stump. Looks like he is there just to complete a formality. Blame should go to MSD too for picking him . Completely retarted captaincy and bowling ..

Don't think his figures are as worse as you make it out. On pitches that are less conducive to spin he has got 7 wickets in 7 matches at an ER or 4.82. Second best after Doherty. SL cleverly didn't play spinners much as pitches were not really assisting finger spinners.

Poor Ash. This is the first time he is touring Australia...give him a break :(( Don't tell me that your defloration went as planned :acute:

VVS its not the numbers but the way he has bowled. For someone acclaimed as a thinking bowler, he has bowled some crazy lengths, often way too short and wide. Whenever he has flighted the ball, he has done well, but hasn't been consistent at all with the flight for some reason.

Just few months ago we made Swann look like an ordinary bowler.. The batting is struggling on this tour. Doherty has come in mostly when the opposition is already put under the mat by pacers. Ashwin has been disappointing but he can surely do better. And in Asian conditions he'll be a lot more effective I think.

Having said that i believe he will do better in his next tour to Australia. I think he is too keen on beating the batsman with quicker one. It is difficult in Australia conditions. Australian pitches help bowlers who can extract bounce. Typically leggies do that. Even Chandana was very good here. May be they could have tried Rahul sharma in place of Jaddu. Jaddu is there only for fielding.

Bhai when seamers give break through up front any spinner coming later on will look menacing when pressure is on batsmen.
