rkt.india Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Thanks for the little mercies on the choker. After playing 450 ODI + ~300 test innings with 'clean slate', integrity definitely can not be one of the problems? Bro. To err is human. Chill.:two_thumbs_up:
Vijy Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Tendulkar is losing genuine fans' date=' people who loved his game and the way he played, all over the world. rabinjackman Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Next record to target: Fastest 100: 35 balls :ohyeah:
express bowling Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Even if he realises this' date=' what makes you think he would give up this relentless pursuit of records?[/quote'] I don't think he would. I am just sad as a Tendulkar fan of the 1990s to see it take such precedence. This guy was not like this during the 1990s.
akshayxyz Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Bro. To err is human. Chill.:two_thumbs_up: arey I have no problem. Just like to debate against irrational arguments. And not to mention the vella time I have these days :)
Mandrake Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Tendulkar had a huge genuine fanbase during the first 15 years or so of his career. He was never the best player under pressure conditions but almost never gave the impression that he was playing for personal milestones. He was very highly respected and loved by cricket lovers in almost every country barring Pakistan. After that he started showing signs that he was valuing personal milestones more and more. As a Tendulkar fan in the 1990s it feels really sad to see a great man bringing himself down by giving the impression thart he values his records more than wins for his country. The great man himself has said in the post century interview that he lost " 50 kgs " in the last year because of pressure when he was not getting his century. If he does not value it above almost everything else in the world then why such extreme pressure ? The cricketing fraternity all over the world is gertting a chance to criticize him incessantly. Would it not have been better for him if he made a few less records but retired ( whenever that is ) with more respect than records. ( does he really need any more records ? )There will always be a few fanatics giving weird reasons trying to defend his every action. But the majority of cricket lovers can all see the truth. Tendulkar is losing genuine fans, people who loved his game and the way he played, all over the world. Thinking from his point of view, I hope Tendulkar realizes this. So now Tendulkar should be feeling guilty about his records?? 100 hundreds for him was definitely an emotional moment-culmination of decades of hard work, sacrifices and career ups and downs not to mention countless injuries threatening to shorten his career. Any reason why he shouldn't be effected by it?? This should not be construed as the sole reason he was playing. I think he clearly articulated this too in one of his recent interviews.

This is the exact kind of fanatic logic that is coming to the fore to defend Tendulkar. Where have I said that he should be guilty of his records ? After achieving a landmark it is understandable that a person would be emotional. But getting extremely emotional and worried before that landmark, just because that achievement is not coming fast, is the sad part. He himself has said that he was under extreme pressure as he was playing well but not getting his 100th century. In this time India lost 2 overseas tours 4-0. The major tensions and worries should be to rectify this or prevent this occurance. These records may not be the sole reason he is playing now but definitely the most important one.

SachDan Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Teenda bashing is still going strong :giggle: What does that mean trollvelu?
akshayxyz Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 This is the exact kind of fanatic logic that is coming the the fore to defend Tendulkar. Where have I said that he should be guilty of his records ? After achieving a landmark it is understandable that a person would be emotional. But getting extremely emotional and worried before that landmark, just because that achievement is not coming fast, is the sad part. Lets say he was overly emotional for the selfish pursuit. How do you explain the obsession of millions/billions of folks on a daily basis? Did you hear what he said - ( was it in Delhi or Mumbai vs WI) where he scored some decent 70 towards winning. No one talked about it, but every other news paper, random guy was talking - how Sachin failed yet again to get 100th 100. And that was not the only instance in the last one year. I am so thankful to Dhoni and Gambhir that we won WC finals. Else what is otherwise a team game, it would have been labelled yet again failure of an individual - even when certain individual was highest scorer for the team. As I said elsewhere, by incessantly hyping and following some meaningless milestone, people brought it upon themselves. And it was most fitting way to get that milestone. If you are so much of concerned about team's cause - not caring about 100s, personal milestones, what is that obsession about "so and so has not scored a 100 since so and so much time". What is so rational about "100s of certain individual does not win matches"? Why do you have to judge individuals based on 100s, 50s scored in a given period, against so and so opposition, contributing to win or loss. Why can't it be as simple as top 5-6 performers for the team. Since certain mob has this tendency to bring about fanaticism/bhakti in every other argument. Let me ask you in religious terms. What is worse - "Being happy about your idol and celebrating success" vs "Celebrating the failure of an individual, that you claim not to bother about, in the name of criticism". If some group of people want to idolize someone, why others should bother? Are they distributing pamphlets for Jihad against kaafirs? Ohh and not to mention the endless SRT vs xyz comparisons. If you have to celebrate certain xyz's skills / achievements why does it have to be some filtered statistics vs SRT. Why can't it be a general statistic/metric vs all peers. Why can't one learn to debate based on numbers/facts w/o resorting to personal remarks such as bhakti/fanaticism - especially when countered with contradicting numbers. This talk about fanaticism is so hypocritical, disgusting and boring . He himself has said that he was under extreme pressure as he was playing well but not getting his 100th century. In this time India lost 2 overseas tours 4-0. The major tensions and worries should be to rectify this or prevent this occurance. These records may not be the sole reason he is playing now but definitely the most important one. Yes. And one has to believe your word that it has not been team/Sachin's primary agenda. Are you part of dressing room ? No one said that the 100th 100 is the most important 100 of all time. Also, as per me - 100 100s are as good as 99 100s. But for some weird obsession with round figures in cricket - 99 has never been as good as 100. I would not have been surprised, had Sachin actually retired last year - there have been endless debates about how he failed to score 100th 100, and not how big an achievement of scoring 99 100 was. A string of 90+ scores is seen as failure to score a 100, if that is done by Sachin, its called choking (remember some time in 2007/2008). With Sachin, its never a win-win situation. Also, talking about the particular innings vs Bangladesh. At the half time, how many of the Indian cricket ke rakhwale opened thread/discussions about the slowest/most disgraceful/most-selfish innings ever? Why suddenly after the match the loss was attributed to one individual performance?
Mandrake Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 But didn't he say that he does not play for milestones? If you play exceedingly well like he has over a long period of time,milestones/records will be created, doesn't mean he plays for them or they are detrimental to the team cause and are something that he shouldn't cherish.

Major part of the blame goes to media as they hyped up so much, Test match in Lords - Stars couldnt have aligned better, Can Tendulkar score his 100th ton at the mecca of cricket Test match at Mumbai - Stars couldnt have aligned better. What better place to score ur 100 than ur home ground Test Match at Sydney - Stars couldnt have aligned better. A Place where Sachin has scored ton each time he has played a test match, what better place to score ur 100th ton. Even the commentators, Sachin comes to bat, hits a four or shows a good defence, commentator starts blaberring "Sachin looks in fine touch, could this be a day that Sachin scores his 100th ton" even though Sachin has scored less than 10 runs when commentator was saying this Same was happening in ICF or any other cricket forum, Sachin comes in to bat, there would be replies "Could this be the day??", "I am having a feeling Sachin will score his 100th ton today" Even in the press conference, each Indian player is asked this one question everytime "Is Sachin 100th ton affecting other player's performance???". Its like media was more interested in Sachin's century than India's performance. Sachin himself admitted "that the media started all this, where ever I went, the restaurant, room service, everyone was talking about the 100th hundred. Nobody talked about my 99 hundreds". So its not like Sachin took unnecessary pressure, the media is majorily responsible for creating this pressure and due to all this we all saw what happened on 16th march.
akshayxyz Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Problem with these fanatics is that they can't think straight. BB is doing the same that he accuses the Mullahs of. Why am I not surprised that the folks who worship some imaginary beings gets most worked up with Sachin 'worshiping'. How rational! :two_thumbs_up: Do you want to have a rational debate about verifiable life achievements of Lord Shiva, Rama, Krishna, Mohammad or Jesus Christ?

You forgot the WC QF, SF and Final (Mumbai, Wankhede). Imagine had we lost in those matches - where he contributed decently. And not to mention - missed WI tour to score 100 in England, skipped England ODIs, WI ODIs - because he wanted 100 in Australia. and so on...As he said, he 100s were so easy to plan for - I am sure he would have been sitting at a pile of 200 100s by now.
AAAA Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Well looks like India are gone from the Asia Cup serves India right, they are showing how poor a team they are, getting beaten by the Bang Bros is a disgrace, Lanka obviously don't care and are playing that way.
rabinjackman Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Well looks like India are gone from the Asia Cup serves India right' date=' they are showing how poor a team they are, getting beaten by the Bang Bros is a disgrace, Lanka obviously don't care and are playing that way.[/quote'] India beat both Lanka and Pakistan, By your logic Bangladesh > India>Pakistan > Sri Lanka :desiman:
AAAA Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 To be honest with India's bowlers we are lucky to even get 5 wickets, to be a great team you need at least 6 good bowlers, India can't even find 2 high quality bowlers who will be consistent. India needs to build a team starting with the bowlers and not with batsmen, Australia, SA are doing it that way and look at the Aussie already have a greta young crop of quick bowlers coming through.
Ponka Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Thank you Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar for throwing India out of Asia cup. If you had not been selfish for your 100th 100, India might have scored 30-50 runs against Bangbros more and might have won and played the finals! Your selfish knock has made Kohli's epic knock go vain!
