After exchanging pleasantries, Fletcher according to sources, told Lorgat: “Is this a joke?” What followed was a conversation in which Fletcher expressed his dissatisfaction over the legality of Ajmal’s action, especially the bending of the elbow. Fletcher was not the only one who confronted Lorgat on the issue. The source claimed that a senior player in the side had a telephonic chat with Lorgat telling him that the ICC needs to have a relook at Ajmal’s action. The player’s argument is that even the umpires and other match officials agree with the Indian team’s view but are afraid of reporting him, fearing some sort of a backlash. It's clear to anyone who knows cricket that the guy is a blatant chucker and was saved due to the moronic 15 degree rule. In the earlier days he would have been no-balled by on-field umpires and probably ousted due to chuckin. If he's allowed to play the game, India should unearth their own chuckers or train players to become chuckers under the 15 degree rule.

If a free for all as far chucking is concerned in the garb of 15 degree rule, let's do the same thing. I am sure there's no dearth of talent and wannabe chuckers in the Indian setup. Let's tell IPL teams that chuking won't be frowned upon in IPL and let's get the best chucker. just because we are good enough to beat teams who field chuckers doesn't mean we continue ceding the advantage. It should be a level playing ground and if other teams are oing to benefit the way SL did and the way Pakis did, it's time we start doing the same.

Sachin's Jock Strap has more cricketing experience and skills than Ajmal.
