Ponting made 140.. it is definitely not the best. it was like free for all match. Every Aussie in their line up hammered us.

There are so many equally good innings which can be seperated only by context and opposition strength. Some came under pressure, some are artistic, some are pure demolition job, Some are outrageously entertaining. Some innings you want to watch again and again. Outrageously entertaining innings those are. Tendulkar's first innings as an opener to this date my favorite innings of his. 82 in 49 balls. High class batting exhibition. I have to add Gilchrist's 2007 world cup final he just ambushed Srilankan bowling. Most of the power innings from Yuvraj singhs are entertaining. Clean hitting.

yep.. and i dont think steyn played any match.. and back then tstobe was new.. only good bowler in series was morkel but im not sure ... but it was a good innings but i have sen better like yusuf pathan vs south afric in south africa on tougher track we lsot it but that was one hell of a innings again yusuf pathan vs new zealand and these are not even in my top 5 innings :cantstop:

I think it's difficult to pick ODI innings versus Test innings. That said, I think I'm surprised "Andrew Peter" was the only one to mention Kaif's special inning's at Lords. I think it was as good an ODI innings as you would see. Tendulkar's 137 in Pakistan and 141* Kuala Lumpur both in lost causes were the best innings I've seen from Tendulkar.

A lot of great innings..i enjoyed Gibbs 175 against Aus in that 434 chase.And yes Sachin's best ODI innings is not a century,it is 98 vs Pak at Centurian.And considering the pressure and the impact it made, one of the greatest ODI innings ever,yes even better than his 200.

i dont remember all odi innings to be very honest there were many gr8 ones form tendulkar.. ...just goes to show how many good ones he has played that too us its normal :P

Some of the best knocks which I can think of at this time. Gambhir's 97 vs Lanka WC FINAL Tendulkar's 200. Has to be in one of the greatest knocks. I doubt he gave any chances to saffers and it was a knock worth 200 runs in an ODI. Has to be right up there. Tendulkar's 98 vs Pakistan Tendulkar's @ Sharjah, 143 Chris Carins ton vs India 2000 CHAMPions trophy final Ganguly's 183.. India on verge of getting knocked out, this was class innings. Kohli's recent 2 tons. vs Lanka at hobart and the one against pak. Sehwag's 126 vs England at colombo, 2002 champions trophy. Fantastic ton. Just took away the game from England. No wonder, when Sehwag score tons, oppositions face defeat 95% of the time. That is what happend here too . Inzamam's knock vs India. First odi 2004. Ponting's 126 vs England, 2009. Brilliant chase. Jayasurya's 189 vs India. Hammered us. Just hammered.

I guess I missed the "seen" part in the title. Well I have heard a lot about it. Seen, I would probably have to say Dhoni's 183 and SRT's 98.

Abdul Razzak's innings against S.A in UAE. Virat's 183 against Pak Sachin's 143 and 134 against Australia Sachin's innings against S.A in world cup 2011. The way he took on Morkel and Steyn was amazing. Gibbs 175

The best ODI innings I have seen was Brian Lara's scintillating hundred against RSA in Karachi in the 96 World Cup. The build up to that game was tremendous, especially after Lara's remarks after the loss to the Kenyans. And add to it that it was a largely white South African team, that still picked others on quotas rather than merit. Stuff I did not understand much as a kid, but was still intrigued by it all. And then to come out and play an innings of pure class, on a good helpful track for the spinners, was incredible. Good support from Chanderpaul, but was a Lara show all the way.

I was too young to appreciate the midget's Sharjah tons but I was old enough when Gibbs played that blinder. Gibbs' 175 for me. To even have the remote thought of chasing down 400+ runs is exemplary. I'd appreciate his innings even if it had come off a club level attack or against 7 Sreeshants.
