Carl Hooper in his latter half of his career was definitely a top player, often covering up for Brain Lara's frequent failures during this period, especially in ODIs. Not to mention a decent captain and a handy bowler.

Dont' think his failure was related to his lack of talent. More due to lack of application. he was supposed to be Viv Richards when he made his debut.

Could have been....One of my Favouraite WI players....But will be remembered as a good player thats it...If Rohit Sharma doesn't pick up his game any time soon and ends up playing a few more games even he could be categorised with Hooper I guess.
