It's remains a big secret that how come an Experienced bowler even after playing 45 Tests all over the world..doesn't know where to pitch the ball to tease the batsman & get him out...what worries more is that despite of having other options we are again & again showing faith on the players who have been failed to get wickets/pile runs even in home conditions. :((

He has got the physical ability to be a very good pace bowler but he doesnt seem like an intelligent chap. There doesnt seem to be much thought going into his bowling which is crucial on flat wickets because a bowler needs to read a batsman's weakness and should know where to bowl and how to set him up. Srinath, Kumble and Zaheer are examples of intelligent bowlers. In any case, you cant be too harsh about his bowling on this wicket because he did bowl some good spells and its flat as a pancake wicket.

Yep batting is to blame. The bowling has always been weak but at least they won us the match in Ahmedabad by bowling England out for 190 odd in the first innings. If you ignore the first innings of both teams in the first test match, the rest of the series has played out similarly to how last year's disastrous Aus and Eng tours did, at least on those tours the batsmen had the excuse of not being able to adapt to relatively faster, bouncier pitches but to win the toss and bat first and then get bowled out so cheaply on flat Indian pitches is just abysmal. Our batsmen are simply not good enough to bat time (survive) which is important in a test match, doesn't matter if the run rate is slow as long as you don't give wickets away but a lot of our players aren't suited to that kind of batting and the ones who were at too old and way past their time.

Let me open the Pandora's box. The reason people do not want to put a foot on the batting uis because Tendulkar's name crops up in the list and I'm not sure if they are comfortable with the GOD being under the scanner. So, bowling provides a scapegoat or a mask as you would say. However, this is not to say that the bowling is great - the bowling is bad but I guess the batting is in a worse state than the bowling.

Dhoni has bhakts? :blink: I thought it was only Tendulkar's or Ganguly's who did. Anyways, I think it's a nice time to end the legend. It's a new "type of team" we have currently i.e. a team in transition and we need someone more proactive than laid back. At the risk of being castrated, would you consider giving Tendulkar the captaincy in Test matches?
