This team lost to even to Swann at Oval last year. We don't have luxuries of devastating Sehwag, Sachin, Dravid and Laxman to play well on rank turners.

Even Clarke took 6 wickets on rank turner. India's best chance would be on pitches which have some help for spinner, but aren't bad for batting either.

Both batsmen played each of the seven bowlers used in the first session with relative ease. England, who took lunch at 74/1, lost Trott in the fifth over after the break when Trott was bowled during his attempt to execute a classical backfoot punch off Raina. And then arrived Pietersen, the man everyone wanted to watch. Pietersen has seldom done well in tour games, but his quickfire 23, with three fours and a six off Raina, prompted many to believe that this was the day. Expectedly, Raina summoned Yuvraj who duly did the job. KP gave his good friend the charge and was out caught and bowled. Bell came and went, but new man Patel was hell-bent to make it count. And in the company of his skipper, he did just that. India ‘A’ were left counting the runs for the remainder of the day (49 overs) and the same is likely to continue on Thursday.

TBH Quality Pace attacks have always done well against India in Indian conditions....SA for one always does extremely well in India,Aus has always run us close.....This English team undoubtedly has the best pace attack from England to tour India in the last 25 years.Swann is an added bonus. Compare this to the bowling we had in England, so as much as I would like to see OP's prediction come true,there is a very slim chance of that happening, Lets not look too deeply at the 3-0 to Pak and 1-1 to SL...If any that might work in their favor as they have had enough time to assess their weaknesses especially in batting because as far as their bowling goes they did more than decently against Pak and SL

Such negativity in this thread :finger:.We have always been lions at home.If we get pitches like 1990s we still would whitewash anybody.Considering english weakness against spin india should win 3-0,4-0.Our batting lineup is out of form and english batting lineup is not in great form either and they have a new opeining combination and frankly broad has been struggling wiht his bowling. How many teams did we whitewash in 90s? I guess only England once. India's home performance is great because we don't lose matches, we don't win every test.

It's difficult as there are so many flat pitches in India so a draw is always highly possible. Also even Saffers(since their return to cricket) haven't won more than 2 tests at home in a series. (except 2 times when they had 2 long series against WI).

I doubt anyone predicts saffers to whitewash strong teams. They aren't dominating that way yet.
