I know but now that we are going behind, we have to take the risk. Can't afford a bore draw or slow loss. We have to be prepared to loss/win convincingly. And rank turner gives that. New personnel helps too. What do you want? Flat road when he are behind in the series? I don't think anyone would do that!
slow n flat pitch like Ahmedabad, which takes thier fast bowler out of the equation n also Monty as he tends to bowl quick.irrespective of pitch,we gotta play well though

They will have to do something then. I can't see them preparing a flat pitch when so much is at stake.
So much is at stake? For who? For the bechaara fans - then yes For team and BCCI - then No. They will go 1-3 series loss to England and go out and find the next chick to party with at night (or family guys will go eat and sleep well with family). Except for one or two folks in the team, this 0-4 in Eng, 0-4 in Aus and 1-3 in India won't be anything more than a mosquito bite for most folks. And BCCI folks - can't care less as long as they roll in money. Who cares about stupid fans who will keep saying "We will thump Eng in India", "We will trounce blah blah in laa-laa land"?

Prepare a turner that is slow low with low bounce - like the one we had in Kanpur - 2008 v/s SAF. Play 3 spinners and one seamer - yadav if he is fit.
Exactly. I think the low bounce will work in our favour. I hope BCCI do somethiing. I don't want us to lose to a team like England at home :pray:

You saw how well they batted in the second innings of that test. If they play on a surface like that again it will be a draw if we score runs. Or we lose if we self combust.

Here's how I rank them: Power House: South Africa, Australia, England and India. Average: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and New Zealand. Minnows: Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. We're the weakest amongst the powerhouse teams, but we can easily smash the average/minnow teams. Pakistan is overrated, they recently lost a series against a weak Sri Lankan side.
:haha: powerhouse is ranked lower than pakistan , suffered two back to back whitewashes in 4 match test series , a feat unprecedented , now struggling to win at home against a side pakistan destroyed and srilanka drew against . lol @ powerhouse.:cantstop:

The bowling attack was the reason we got to no 1.As a team our bowlers did well in that period .
Of course we did. I mean to be number 1 you have to win matches. You cant be number 1 by drawing games. And to win you have to dismiss the other team twice. So obviously bowlers delivered. But was it a world beating attack?? I doubt it ever was.

never had expectations in the two decades I have followed our team. If we win great, if we lose, oh well! one thing I don't like abt Indian cricket is the lack of professionalism across the board, from admins to players, barring a few exceptions like Dravid and Kumble. Most other players are either unfit, have no work ethic, don't give a damn about the team, or a combination thereof. Most of the wins occur due to natural talent and things coming together at the right time, rather than clinical performance with planning and purpose behind.

point is it takes thier bowlers out of the equation,we can hope to bat well.yes they batted well in 2nd innings there, but still we have chance

They have the measure of our crap bowlers.

At the very least I want to see new faces in the next test. If they roll out the same team or swap Ashwin for Bhajji I will be furious!
we all will be,but nobody who matters gives a hoot
